     Jerry Lee Vest was born circa 1955.² He died on January 8, 2017 at Virginia.² He Jerry Lee Vest, 62, of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Vest; and step-father, Wilbur Leighton. Jerry is survived by his mother, Lena Pugh Leighton; brother, Larry Vest; sisters, Sherry Vest Schoolfield and Connie Leighton Cox (Michael); and several nieces and nephews. Those who knew Jerry would remember that he was a skilled cabinet maker in his younger years and someone who was always willing to help the people he cared about. A private Memorial Service is being held by the family. on January 11, 2017.²

     Spurgeon Victor "Spud" Boitnott was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.³ He married Mildred Jamison.³ Spurgeon Victor "Spud" Boitnott was born on September 12, 1919 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^2,3,5 He married Mary Elizabeth "Bibbie" Shank, daughter of Thomas Leslie "Tom" Shank and Mary Clara Cooper, on November 10, 1951 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,3,4 Spurgeon Victor "Spud" Boitnott died on May 7, 2011 at Franklin Co., Virginia, at age 91.^3,6 He Spurgeon Victor (Spud) Boitnott, 91, of Boones Mill, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011. He was born on September 12, 1919, a son of the late John Robert and Nancy Catherine Stover Boitnott. Mr. Boitnott was an United States Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 92nd Evacuation Unit. He was a lifelong member of Valley View Wesleyan Church where he was very active serving his Lord. He was also a member of Callaway Ruritan Club. Mr. Boitnott was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Shank Boitnott; and a brother, Lewis Boitnott. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Jamison Boitnott; son, Tom Boitnott; daughter, Linda Boitnott Downing; grandson, John Robert Boitnott; brother and sister-in-law, Basil and Linda Boitnott; stepchildren and spouses, Phyllis Hicks, Jerry Jamison, Peggy Nunn (Doug), Glen Jamison (Diane), Danny Jamison (Terri), Terry Jamison (Cynthia) and Alan Jamison (Gayle); a number of nieces nephews, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011, with Pastor Barry Lawson and the Rev. Jason Bryant officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens (Roanoke). The family expresses gratitude to the nursing staff of Trinity Missions for their care and concern for Mr. Boitnott and family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Callaway Rescue Squad or Fork Mountain Fire and Rescue.      Linwood Jefferson "L.J." Whitmire was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,5 His Social Security Number was 230-34-1121.⁶ He was born on March 31, 1930 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^6,2,3,5 He married Dorothy Marie "Dot" Shank, daughter of Thomas Leslie "Tom" Shank and Mary Clara Cooper, on July 29, 1950 at Roanoke, Virginia.^7,1,2,8 Linwood Jefferson "L.J." Whitmire died on October 4, 2005 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 75.^1,6,5,4 He Linwood J. (L.J.) Whitmire, 75, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 4, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Rachel St. Clair Whitmire; brothers, Davy, Joe, and Eddie Whitmire; and sisters, Anna Wigginton, Frances Haislip and Sue Whitmire. Mr. Whitmire served in the Marine Corps and was a retired plastering contractor. He was a longtime member and former Elder at Edgewood Christian Church. He will be long remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Dorothy "Dot" Whitmire; son, Larry L. Whitmire and wife, Carolyn, Brenda Gayle Trent and husband, Jimmy all of Roanoke; grandchildren, Lynn Whitmire and wife, Melissa; Jimmy Trent, III (Little Jimmy), Michael Whitmire and wife, Lauren; sister, Rachel "Cookie" Whitmire of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews.      Walter Daniel "Dan" Williams was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.⁴ He was born on January 15, 1932 at Roanoke, Virginia.² He married Norma Jean Shank, daughter of Thomas Leslie "Tom" Shank and Mary Clara Cooper, on April 20, 1957 at Bennettsville, Marlboro Co., South Carolina.^1,2 Walter Daniel "Dan" Williams and Norma Jean Shank were divorced on March 13, 1984 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.² Walter Daniel "Dan" Williams died on January 12, 2002 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 69.^3,4 He WILLIAMS, Walter D., (Dan), 69, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2002. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter E. and Grace Williams and a brother, Bobby Williams. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army. Dan retired from the V.A. Medical Center, Salem. He was a member of Melrose Masonic Lodge #139 A.F. & A.M., a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church, the D.A.V. Virginia #3, and V.F.W. Post 1264. Surviving are a daughter, Becky Moore and her husband, Jim of Salem; a son, Mike Williams and his wife, Kelly of Troutville; grandson, Jason Moore; granddaughter, Rachel Williams; a brother, Tommy Williams of Roanoke; and sisters, Joyce Morgan of New Castle and Lucille Williams of Roanoke.      Mattie Cellala Davis was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.¹ She was born on October 6, 1916 at Blacksburg, Virginia.¹ As of November 25, 1933,her married name was Kropff.² She married Howard Joseph Kropff, son of William Joseph Kropff and Matilda Alice Poff, on November 25, 1933 at Radford, Virginia.^1,2 Mattie Cellala Davis died on March 2, 2008 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 91.¹ She Mattie (Cellala) Davis Kropff, 91, of Salem, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Richfield Recovery and Care Center. She was born in Blacksburg, Va., on October 6, 1916, to the late Lucy E. Smith and James Arthur Davis. The family moved to Salem when Cellala was very young. Cellala was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Joseph Kropff. She is survived by her son, Roger Allen Kropff ;and daughter, Patricia E. Kropff Akers and her husband, David H. Akers; sisters, Ruby K. Mullins and Elizabeth Saunders and her husband, O.E. Saunders; grandchildren, Regina E. Altizer, Cellala E. Altizer, Johanna E. Kirsop and Joseph Gregory Kropff; great-grandchildren, Jonathan C. Bentley, Amanda E. Bentley and Kaehla E. Kirsop; nieces and nephews, Betty Chandler, Peggy Joann Thompson, Joyce Brown, Thomas Marshall David, and Jerry Davis; and greatnieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home, Salem Chapel. She will be laid to rest next to her husband of 61 years in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on March 3, 2008.¹
