     Michael Harold Taylor Michael Taylor, 71, of Tampa, died Sunday afternoon of a heart attack. Mike was born in South Bend, Indiana where he attended John Adams High School. He graduated from Purdue University in 1962 with a BS in Mathematics and returned to South Bend where he taught middle-school for several years. Mike moved to Florida in 1967, taught school, and most recently worked as a senior tax consultant for Transamerica, retired in 1997. In retirement Mike pursued interests including gardening, bridge, bowling, golf, music, stamp collecting and as a sports fan. Mike is survived by his sister Patricia Fritz and his best friend, Darrell Lindsey.⁶ His Social Security Number was 313-38-6817.⁴ He was born on October 15, 1937 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^2,3,4 He died on January 25, 2009 at Tampa, Hillsborough Co., Florida, at age 71.^6,4

Terry, 89 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21st, 2021 at the Bowers Hospice House. He was born in Surveyor to Floyd and Esta Clemons Terry. Eugene was an US Army veteran. He worked in the optical business for 52 years, always proud that he fitted and made glasses for all his patients, Eugene worked until the age of 82. At home he enjoyed yard work and gardening while his health allowed. He also enjoyed crocheting until eye sight worsened with age. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Bernice; sister, Jewel; brothers Tilden, Norris, and Kendall; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law and two nephews. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Kathy Taraczkozy and husband, Bill; grandson, Alex Taraczkozy and his girlfriend, Taryn Ramsden; brother, Buford and wife, Lucy; sisters, Gloria and Teressa and husband, Robert; special friend, Betty Cook; many nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law and three sister-in-law, survive as well.      Buford Landon Terry Buford Landon Terry, a beloved husband, father, brother and friend passed away on July 31st, 2024, in his hometown of Beckley, WV. Born to Esta Brook Clemons and Floyd C. Terry on April 1st, 1937, in Surveyor, WV. Burford was a lifelong resident of Beckley, except for living in Cleveland, OH with his brothers for a few years in the 1950’s. Buford was a true Beckley native, where his life and legacy were deeply interwoven with the community he loved and served. Buford’s early years were shared with siblings, whom he loved, Kendall, Norris, Gene, Tilden, Jewel, Gloria, and Teresa. He often spoke of his siblings, sharing memories of farming, fishing, swimming, hunting and living in the old farmhouse with their devoted mother and father. Buford graduated from Trap Hill High School, attended Morris Harvey College in Charleston, WV and graduated from the IBM Business School. Buford was a proud native of Beckley, where he had a long career managing businesses, attending the Family Worship Center on Pinewood Drive and volunteering at the Beckley Dream Center. In 1970 Buford married the love of his life, Lucy C. Terry. Beyond a loving marriage, they shared a love for gardening, berry picking, and canning fruits & vegetables. They also shared a love for taking care of sick animals and with the tender care of both Buford and Lucy they found their forever home becoming beloved pets of the Terry family. Their home was filled with love and laughter while raising their two children: Melonie Ann Terry of Beckley, and Daniel “Scott” Terry of Sherrills Ford, NC & Beckley, WV. Sadly, Buford was predeceased by his parents Floyd and Esta Terry of Beckley, brothers Kendall Terry of Lester, Gene (Bernice) Terry of Beckley, Norris (Gerry) Terry of Lester, Tilden Terry of Beckley, Jewel (Jack) Deck of Mabscott, WV. His life and cherished memories are celebrated by his wife: Lucy Terry of Beckley, children: Melonie Terry of Beckley, Scott Terry of Beckley & NC, sisters Gloria (Harold) Webb of Lynchburg, VA, Teresa (Robert) Acord of Maple Meadow, WV, and sister-in-law: Gladola Terry of Lester, along with many nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Pepper. He was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County, a graduate of Trap Hill High School, and he attended Beckley College. Terry was assistant manager of the Acme Super Market on Valley Drive and was a member of the Mabscott Christian Church. Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucy Sanger Terry; a daughter, Melonie Ann, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Jack (Jewel) Deck of Mabscott, Miss Gloria Terry and Miss Teressa Terry both of Surveyor and four brothers, Kendall and Norris, both of Lester, Eugene of Eccles and Buford of Surveyor. A member of the Eccles First Baptist Church, Bernice will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed camping at Lake Stephens. She was a beloved wife. Mother, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ina Burns; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Cangemi. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Eugene “Gene” Terry; a daughter, Kathy Taraczkozy and her husband Bill, and her only grandchild, Alex, all of Harper Heights; a sister, Peggy Cangemi of Eccles; two brothers, Eddie Barker and his wife Joan of Prosperity and Gerald Barker of Eccles; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. on March 6, 2005.³

     Geraldine Gertrude "Gerry" Robertson Geraldine Gertrude Terry, 87 of Lester, WV went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was born April 15, 1934 in Besoco, WV to the late Luther Robertson and Vergie Meadows Robertson. Geraldine was a Charter member of Faith Community Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, making jewelry, genealogy and caring for many children over the years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Norris Terry; and son, Alan Terry. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Debbie Terry of Lester, David Terry and wife Doreen of Beckley, Linda Auxier and husband John of Elkview, Lisa Terry of Lester, Tiffany Goodson and husband Randy of Surveyor; daughter-in-law, Tammy Terry of Beckley; siblings, Gladola Terry of Lester, Kermit Robertson and wife Frances of Jamestown, TN; grandchildren, Shaun Terry, Matt Terry and wife Amanda, Erin Terry and husband John, Colin Terry, Dyan Albertson, Norman Vest, Roy Trent and wife Ashley, and Brooklyn Goodson. Services will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
