Mildred Louise "Mickey" Epps Mildred (Mickey) Louise Epps Raby, age 96 of Ocala, FL, formerly of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Mickey was a graduate of Old Knoxville High School in 1942 and attended the University of Tennessee. Throughout her years in Knoxville (1961-2014) she was active in several church, community, and civic activities. She was a great golfer, once even scoring a hole in one. She led Girl Scouts, participated in Akima Club, played tennis at the Racquet Club, sang with the Knoxville Women’s Chorus, and with Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church Choir. Mickey and her husband, Kenneth N. Raby (former special agent with the FBI) loved entertaining. Often, they hosted YoungLife and church activities, and she enjoyed attending Women’s Circle and various Bible studies. Together, they raised three daughters and modeled what a God honoring marriage and Christ centered family looks like. In retirement years, she and Ken traveled, enjoying family and friends from all over. She and Ken relocated to Ocala in 2014. They attended Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. Mickey faithfully attended a weekly women’s Bible study. She lived at Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle and was active as hospitality chairman and president of the council there. Her favorite activities throughout her 96 years included water aerobics, walking, golfing, playing bridge, reading, and singing. She looked forward to the many ‘girls trips’ planned by her daughters, often enjoying the Florida coast. Mickey loved discussing current events with her sons-in-law. A smile was always on her face when she was around any of her six beloved grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, of 72 years; her parents, Mildred Fortune Epps and Gale F. Epps; brothers, Kyle E. Epps and Morris F. Epps and sister, Edith Epps Clendenen. Mickey is survived by her children, Joanne Raby Bertalan and husband, Reverend Edward F. Bertalan, of Ocala, FL; Jane Raby Johnson and husband, John T. Johnson, of Knoxville, TN and Marcia Raby Acuff and husband, Dr. Robert V. Acuff, of Elizabethton, TN; six grandchildren, Marianne Bertalan Anderson, Amy Bertalan Bowles, Ginny Bertalan O’Kain, Josh Johnson, Joy Johnson Cooper, and Marcia Allison Nicole Acuff; and sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Betty Arnett of Anchorage, AK. Her last words of advice to her family following the reading of her favorite Bible passage, 1 Corinthians 13, were “love each other and be happy”…something she displayed well throughout her life. Service: Immediate Family Graveside Service will be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Knoxville, TN. Officiating: Rev. Ed Bertalan, Rev. Matt Bowles. Pallbearers: Drew Anderson, Matt Bowles, Darrell O’Kain, Josh Johnson, John Cooper.2 She was born on January 27, 1924 at Knox Co., Tennessee.3 As of March 26, 1943,her married name was Raby.3 She married Kenneth Nelson Raby, son of Frederick Samuel "Fred" Raby and Nettie Oberiah Rash, on March 26, 1943.3,1,2 Mildred Louise "Mickey" Epps died on July 12, 2020 at Ocala, Marion Co., Florida, at age 96.2

She then attended Kearney State Teacher’s College, now the University of Nebraska at Kearney, for two summers, while teaching rural schools for six years. She quit teaching in May 1953. Ardelle met many special families while teaching in rural Logan County schools. Some of her students were only three years younger than she was. Ardelle married David Sheets on Dec. 26, 1952, at the Arnold United Methodist Church. To this union, three children were born, Carol, Tom and Steve, who passed away in 2012. Ardelle, David and their two-month-old daughter, Carol, moved to Casper, Wyoming, in December 1953. She taught kindergarten in Casper from September 1961 through May 1965. She loved to read and passed the love of reading on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ardelle, David and children moved to Loveland, Colorado, on March 20, 1971, and they have lived in that same home since. Many wonderful memories were made in that home over all the years, and there are many more to come. Preceding her in death were her son, Steve; brother, Jerry Dillon and his wife, Betty; sister, Janet and her husband, Harold Richards; as well as her parents.      Charles Craig Dillon Charles “Craig” Dillon of Sheridan, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado, at the age of 70. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his wife and daughters. Craig was overcome by respiratory and infection issues seven weeks after successful cardiac bypass surgery. Craig was born at home, delivered by his grandmother, on a farm outside of Arnold, Nebraska, on October 18, 1946, to Loren Dillon and Alice Enevoldsen Dillon. He was the sixth of seven children. Craig always had great stories to tell about playing outside, catching snakes, and shooting deer to put food on the table. He graduated from Arnold High School in 1965. He then enrolled in Kearny State College. After taking a break from college, he was drafted by the United States Army and traveled overseas to serve in Vietnam. He served in the D Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry, 1st Air Cavalry from 1968 to 1969. Craig had difficulty talking about his Vietnam experience until he attended his first Kentucky Campout Reunion several years ago. Surrounded by his band of brothers, they were able to share stories and revive the feelings of comradery that they had shared many years before as young men in Vietnam. Craig then returned home from Vietnam and re-enrolled at Kearney State College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Science. During this time, he met Marsha Hanson, his future wife of 46 years. After their marriage, they began their family of three daughters, Stephanie (Mike) Cole of Gillette, Wyoming, Kristen (Chad) Nicholson of Aurora, Colorado and Melissa (Brad) Bobowiec of Bozeman, Montana. Craig and Marsha began their teaching careers in North Platte, Nebraska, and then in Alliance, Nebraska, as they grew their family. While living in Alliance, Craig became a locomotive engineer for Burlington Northern Railroad. He loved running a train out in the open areas while watching for wildlife. In 1984, Craig and Marsha moved the family to Sheridan, Wyoming, to continue his career as a locomotive engineer and hers as a teacher. Craig’s great joys in life were being with his family, playing with the grandchildren he adored, hunting, fishing, and collecting Winchester rifles. He also loved to shoot sporting clays and billiards. Most importantly, Craig loved life and was able to enjoy 20 long wonderful years in retirement; 6 of those with Marsha retired. They traveled the country enjoying the beautiful scenery and wonderful food along the way. They bought a home in Arizona more recently where they spent time making new friends and enjoying all of the activities the park had to offer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry Dillon and sister-in-law Betty Dillon, his sister Janet Richards and brother-in-law Harold Richards, his sister Ardelle Sheets and his mother-in-law Margaret Ann Hanson. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, his brothers Russell (Cheryl) Dillon of Billings, Montana and Darrell (Ginger) Dillon of Casper, Wyoming and his sister Alison Dillon of North Platte, Nebraska, by his seven beautiful grandchildren, Dillon, Sarah, and Rachel Cole, Ethan and Evan Nicholson, and Wesley and Henry Bobowiec, and by his father-in-law Burdette Hanson of Superior, Nebraska. Craig felt like a father to his many nieces and nephews, as well.2 He was buried at Arnold Cemetery, 1 mile south on Highway 40, Arnold, Custer Co., Nebraska.7 He was born on October 18, 1946 at Arnold, Custer Co., Nebraska.1,2 He married Marsha Hanson on May 30, 1971.1,2 Charles Craig Dillon died on October 3, 2017 at Englewood, Arapahoe Co., Colorado, at age 70.2
