Wininger, age 94, of Carl Junction, Mo., went to her Heavenly home on Saturday April 13, 2013, at Webb City Health & Rehab Center, following an illness. Nona was born on February 11, 1919 in Avilla, Mo. the daughter of the late George W. and Anna B. (Swearingin) Hill. She has been a lifetime area resident. Nona married Vernon B. Wininger on April 29, 1936 in Carthage, Mo. Together they raised and cared for five children. She worked for Elder Manufacturing as a press operator. She was a member of the Joplin Full Gospel Church. She was an Ordained Minister and had a weekly broadcast called “Rays of Hope Ministry” on KPCG and KKLL. She is survived by four sons, Ed Winiger and wife Betty, Jerry Wininger and wife Janet, Norman Wininger and wife Sharon and Dan Wininger and wife Kathy, all of Joplin; one daughter-in-law, Miros Wininger, Neosho, Mo; two sisters, Edna Rhodes, of Kentucky, and Neva Nicholson, Carthage, Mo; twenty-six grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Vernon Wininger; and one son, Ron Wininger. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Ruth and John Myers, Ministers will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
