She married her second husband, James Weldon Simmons, on Aug. 9, 1970. In addition to her husband of the residence, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Lois S. Rowland of Chatham and Betty S. Clifton of Danville; one stepson, Clancy S. Johnson of Danville; four brothers, Aubrey Turner of Danville, Leonard Turner of Gretna, Elmer Turner of Keeling and Lester Turner of Providence, N.C; two sisters, Louise Wilson of Gretna and Charlotte Goodson of Dry Fork; eight step grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by four brothers, Marvin Turner, Charlie Turner, Norman Turner and Luke Turner; a sister, Lucille Augustine; and a stepdaughter, Doris McDaniel. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Rev. Herman Absher and the Rev. Kyle Flora officiating. Interment will be in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends form 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel and at other times will be at the residence.
