Va., June 1 — The body of Pvt. Coy S. Poff, 23, who died on the island of Honshu, Japan, April 30, arrived here this morning and was taken to Fanning Funeral home. The body has now been removed to the home of the soldier's mother, Mrs. Dora Anderson Poff near Iaeger. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Iaeger Memorial church at Roderfleld, conducted by the Rev. W. S. Barbery of Iaeger. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Roderfield cemetery. He was born October 21, 1925, at Arlington, W. Va. During the past war, young Poff served two and one-half years with the U.S. Navy and participated in the invasion of Normandy, France. He enlisted in the army about a year ago. Surviving are his father, William Rex Poff, Christiansburg, Va; his mother, Mrs. Dora Anderson Poff; one brother, William Poff, Iaeger; one sister, Miss Margaret Poff, Baltimore, Md; and a half brother and half sister, Hazel and Garland Anderson, Iaeger. on June 2, 1948.1
