     Sandra Lee Slusher was born on March 11, 1947 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.2,4,5 As of November 18, 1990,her married name was Aldrich.3 She married Harold Eli Aldrich on November 18, 1990 at Hillsborough Co., Florida.2,3 Sandra Lee Slusher died on September 2, 2004 at Florida at age 57.2 She ALDRICH, Sandra Slusher, 57, gently re-entered the Consciousness of Peace surrounded by her devoted family and hospice workers on September 2, 2004, after living bravely with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) for 14 years. Born in Christiansburg, Va., on March 11, 1947, she was raised in the down-to-earth traditions of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which remained her spiritual home throughout her life. A graduate of Stetson University, she was a social worker, executive manager, organization consultant and unofficial spiritual advisor. Now rejoicing the precious gift she was and is to all of us are her husband, Harold; daughter, Virginia Bagley (husband, Drew); stepdaughter, Angela; stepson, Hal; mother, Myrtle; sisters, Paula Slusher and Judy Wansley (husband, Rob); brothers, Jim (wife, Connie) and Chris (wife, Annissa); grandchildren, Brett and Megan Aldrich; nephews, Evan and Wyatt; niece, Harper; brothers-in-law, Ron Aldrich (wife, Mary Lynne), Keith Robishaw (wife, Sue) and Todd Robishaw; and many loving friends. A Gathering of Remembrance will be joyfully celebrated Monday evening, September 6, 2004, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave., Tampa (813-876-2421). Family visitation at 6 p.m., service at 7 p.m., reception about 8 p.m. Sandy's family extends our deepest gratitude to neurologist Rafael M. Rodriguez, M.D., for his compassionate care of 15 years, and to the unsung heroes of hospice care who supported her desire to transition with grace and dignity. We particularly invite all of the hospice workers who directly or indirectly served Sandy and her family to gather with us in celebration. Flowers will be welcomed, as will memorial donations to LifePath Hospice or the ALS Association, Florida Chapter. "Hearken and hear the thunder of drums! Throw open the gates . . . a Warrior of Peace is entering heaven!!" On September 5, 2004.2
