Also surviving are one son, Terry Slater and wife, Robin, of Venus; one stepson, Harry Slater Jr. of Turkey City; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Elberta Harbo of Fontana, Calif. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Slater was preceded in death by a stepson, Allen Slater; two brothers, Clair Smith and Bobby Smith; and two sisters, Luella Stupka and Carrie Linebaugh. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday in the Goble Funeral Home, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. David Selleck officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarview Memorial Park. on February 1, 2006.2

Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Main Street, Eau Claire. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. on February 1, 2008.3

Mr. Slater was an active member of the Poland, Ohio, United Methodist Church and was a member of Certified Managers Organizations. He was married Nov. 7, 1952, to the former Shirley Rhea, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Richard Slater of Youngstown, Ohio, and Daniel Slater of East Canton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Christopher, Stephen, Ian, Denise, Danielle and Brandon; and one great-grandson, Dillon. He also is survived by two sisters, Isabelle Caravan of Fulton, N.Y., and Ruth Slater of Brookville; and two brothers, Harry Slater of Shippenville and Richard Slater of Sierra Vista, Ariz. Besides his parents, Mr. Slater was preceded in death by one daughter, Dawn Withers; one sister, Anita Slater; and one brother, Wilbur Slater. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, Poland, Ohio, and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Poland United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Hospice of the Valley. on March 6, 2006.4
