He had a hardscrabble but happy childhood in the mountains and hollows during the Depression and World War II. He attended Shady Springs High School in Beaver, West Virginia. As a teenager, he drove coal company trucks to help support his parents, brothers and sisters. He served in the Air Force at Bryan Air Force Base, Bryan, Texas during the Korean Conflict. His skills as a mechanic and officers' chauffer proudly earned him the rank of Airman 1st Class. Following his military service, he returned with his young family to West Virginia. There he worked at Cochran's Mill in Daniels and Mabscott Supply Co. in Beckley, West Virginia. Bob followed his brother Bill to Ohio and started his career with DeLille Oxygen Company, as a route driver. He became the Production Manager for the company's Columbus facility and its seven statewide branches. He retired in 1998, with 38 years of service to DeLille. Bob reared his family in Whitehall, residing there for thirty-six years. For the past eleven years, Bob, Nordeen, and their son Dana made their home in Millersport, Ohio. He showed his care for his family and friends through work. He was a skilled auto and truck mechanic, welder, handyman, and gentleman farmer. He was in his element when he could perform a job for someone. For example, he single-handedly deconstructed a coal camp house, rebuilt, and expanded it as a home for his parents. Bob is survived by loving wife, Anna Nordeen Cochran Vest; sons, Rodney Vest of Lancaster, Dennis Vest and Diane Stadler of Sugar Grove, Dale Vest of Glen Daniels, WV, Dana Vest of the home; grandson, Shane (Toshia) Vest of Thornville; beloved great-grandchildren, Lane and Makayla; sisters, Geneva Lucas of Medina, Oh, Christine (Bob) Dehart of Beaver, WV; brother, John (Linda) Vest of Sugar Grove; sister-in-law, Joy Fritz of Daniels, WV; brother-in-law, Dr. Bud (Anita) Cochran of Centerville, Oh; twenty-three nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother and best friend Bill, sister-in-law Billie Jean Worley Vest, brother-in-law Buddy Clarence Lucas, daughter-in-laws Lynn Hochuli Vest and Cathy Cooney Vest.      Christine May Vest Christine Dehart, Jun 19, 1943 – Feb 19, 2024. Mrs. Christine Dehart, age 80, of Glen Morgan, West Virginia passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christine May DeHart, a loving wife, mother, great grandmother, sister and dedicated follower of the Lord. Christine's battle with a long term illness came to an end on February 19, 2024. She was 80 years old. Christine's nurturing spirit and unwavering love will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Christine was a brilliant and established woman. A jeweler for Lilly's Crown Jewelry and delivery driver for the local Butcher Block. Her passion and understanding for the Lord showed in everything she did. She inspired everyone around her. Her love for genealogy and the history of her ancestors was a hobby she enjoyed sharing with everyone. Christine's family and friends remember her as a tireless worker and mentor to everyone her light shined on. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Chrissy was known for her warm and caring personality. She had a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Christine was proceeded in death by her husband of 36 years, Robert DeHart, her daughters Cathy Wilson DeHart, Tammy DeHart, and Kathy Asbury, brothers Bill and Bob Vest, niece Karen Hockey, granddaughter Brenda Greene and family friend Grover Aliff. Christine was survived by her sister Geneva Lucas, brother John and Linda Vest, daughters AiJay and Erica DeHart, Sharron and Steve Wheeler. Grandchildren Adrian and RayLeigh DeHart, Ariel and Alex Harper Poe, Anthony Scott, Amanda and Orville Workman, James and Desiree Wheeler, Miranda and Pat Kamenski. Great grandchildren Chelsea Harper, D'Anthony and Dominick Scott, Logan Hartsog and Lane Lilly, Christian and Mia Wheeler, Cody and Tammy Asbury, Shawn and Tiffany Hunter and many more cousins, nieces and nephews. Chrissy's memory will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and fellow Christians. Her legacy as a mother, wife, grandmother and sister will endure and her spirit will continue to inspire us all.      Robert William DeHart Robert William DeHart, 82 of Beaver, WV passed away at his home on March 18th, 2018. He is the son of the late John "Pete" Jarrell and Mattie Harris. Born March 23rd, 1935 in Winding Gulf, WV he spent his early childhood in Skelton, WV. He was raised by his grandparents, John and Mildred Harris of Dry Hill Rd, WV. Later in life he went to work in Ohio and then became disabled in the early 70's. He, in the early 90's, was a proud owner of his home run bicycle repair shop. Friends, family and members in the community knew him as, "The Bicycle Man! " He was also a sports lover and an avid "Braves" and "WVU" fan! He was a family man and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He attended Word of Faith Assembly Church and enjoyed listening to Gospel music. He is preceeded in death by wife, Arlene Gunther DeHart; Brother, Ronald "Ronnie" DeHart and Brother in law, Grover Aliff; Daughters, Tammy DeHart and Cathy DeHart Wilson. He is survived by his devoted wife, caregiver and best friend of 31 years, Christine DeHart. Brother, James "Jimmy" DeHart and (Sonya) of Medina, Ohio; Daughters, Kathy Asbury and (Timmy) of Midway, WV; Sharon Wheeler and (Stephen) of Stanaford, WV; and AiJay DeHart and (Jessica) of Huntington, WV. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Burial will follow the service in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. R. E. Leadingham in charge. Burial will follow in the Bradley Cemetery. She died at her home at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday following a long illness. Born March 14, 1913, Price Hill, she was a daughter of the late Mrs. Maggie Weise Pack of Bradley and John Newton Pack. She was a member of the Bradley Church of God. Survivors include her husband, Luther Henry Gray; three sons, Henry of Terry, and Leroy and Leslie, at home; seven daughters, Mrs. Joyce Trent, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Gladys Hall and Mrs. Janice Campbell, both of Lanark, Mrs. Shirley Gates, Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Laura Neely, Bradley, and Misses Glenna and Drema Gay, both at home; five brothers, Bill, Fred and John, all of Bradley, Tom, Detroit, Mich., and Arnett, Minden; five sisters, Mrs. Thelma Fox, Mrs. Katherine Fox, and Mrs. Violet Crawford, all of Bradley, Mrs. Myrtle Terns, of Michigan and Mrs. Dorothy Penland, Detroit Mich; and 12 grandchildren. The body will be removed from the Webb and Neal Funeral Home to the church one hour prior to services. Pallbearers will be Bernard Campbell, Bill Campbell, Walter Campbell, Johnny Atkinson, Robert Clay and Roger McMillian. on April 10, 1963.3
