Crowder, whose death followed a lingering illness, was born March 24, 1892, in Virginia, a son of the late Isaac and Millie Craft Crowder. A former Logan County Republican executive committe member, he was a candidate for the same office in the May primary. Crowder came to West Virginia when he was 17 years of age. He worked in several coal mines in the county and owned his own truck mine until about two years ago when he went out of business. Crowder had also been employed by the State Road Comission. Surviving are his widow, Lillian Opal, whom he married in 1934; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Bailey of Fairborne, Ohio, and Drema Sue at home; one sister, Virgie Crowder of Huntington; four sons, Ray, Clyde, Bernard, and Charles, all of Fairborne, and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Harris Funeral Home chapel. Elder A. C. Maple will officiate and burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. on March 12, 1964.3
