He was born Nov. 7, 1955 in Sigourney, the son of Earl Lawrence and Donna Mae Olive Krier. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1973 and the University of Iowa in 1978 with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Hughes Aircraft for five years. He later was an engineer consultant for the Department of Defense contracts with Rockwell, Kaiser Electronics, Northup, Boeing, McDonald Douglas and Grumann. In 1987 he returned to farm with his father. He was a member of the Sigourney Christian Church. He is survived by his mother; and one sister, Jody Krier of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his father on Oct. 19, 1996. Funeral services were held on Fri., Sept. 20 at the Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney with the Rev. Paul Davidson officiating. Burial was in the Pennington Cemetery at Sigourney. Casket bearers were Dennis Rankin, Jeff Krier, Dan Strobel, Craig Krier, Tom Greene, Rick Mateer and Kenneth Kensler. Arrangements are by Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney. on September 20, 2002.2

     Nancy Louise Paulson was buried at Pennington Cemetery, Sigourney, Keokuk Co., Iowa.1 She Nancy Louise Krier passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief battle with lung cancer on August 7, 2010. She was born on March 15, 1939 in Omaha, NE the daughter of H. Boyd and Jeanette Vittetoe Paulson. Nancy settled with her family in Sigourney, Iowa as a teenager. She graduated Sigourney High School in 1957. She graduated from the University of Iowa as a radiology technician. In 1956, Nancy met Carroll D. Krier. They were joined in marriage on December 20, 1958. Nancy and Carroll settled with their family in Cedar Rapids in 1973, where she became a homemaker. Nancy was active in bridge and book clubs, and enjoyed reading, cooking and playing Nintendo. Nancy was survived by her husband of 51 years, Carroll; her daughter, Kathleen Moorehead and granddaughters, Megan and Melissa, of Maple Valley, WA; her son, Craig Krier, and daughter, Amy Krier, of Cedar Rapids; her brother, James B. Paulson (Janette), as well as many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Paulson Storm. Her family is grateful for all the support from loved ones at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army, the Mission of Hope in Cedar Rapids, and the American Cancer Society. Graveside services 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Pennington Cemetery south of Sigourney, Iowa. No visitation. Arrangements by Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney.1 She was born on March 15, 1939 at Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska.1 As of December 20, 1958,her married name was Krier.1 She married Carroll David Krier, son of Jacob Joseph A. "Jake" Krier and Erma Larue Parkhill, on December 20, 1958.1 Nancy Louise Paulson died on August 7, 2010 at Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., Iowa, at age 71.1
