She was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Mary Nichols; infant daughter, Deborah Kay Dudding; her twin sister, Iris Leonard; sister, Margie Brown; brother, Paul Nichols; great-granddaughter, Sophia Clair Long; and a son-in-law, Eddie Bush.

Dudding Jr., and his wife, Debbie; David Dudding; daughters, Linda G. Shepherd and her husband, Melvin, Nancy L. Hall and her husband, Darrel Sr., nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother; six sisters; and many other family members and friends. Funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, Chaplain Roger Graves will officiate, and the interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery (beside Colonial Baptist Church) in Blue Ridge.      Charles Willard "Junior" Dudding Jr. married Debbie Unknown.^1,2 Charles Willard "Junior" Dudding Jr. was born on July 2, 1956 at Roanoke, Virginia.² He died on December 11, 2016 at Jackson, Jackson Co., Ohio, at age 60.² He Charles W. (Junior) Dudding Jr., 60 of Jackson, Ohio and formerly of Vinton passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016. He was born in Roanoke on July 2, 1956 a son of Charles W. "Pete" Dudding Sr. of Vinton who survives and the late Iva Nichols Dudding. Junior is survived by his wife, Debbie Dudding; his children, Heather Walker, Chad Dudding; three grandchildren as well as a brother, David; two sisters, Nancy and Linda and his trusted dog, Buford. on December 22, 2016.²

     David Earl Dudding was buried at Hilcrest Cemetery, Blue Ridge, Botetourt Co., Virginia.³ He was born on November 14, 1961 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^2,4 He married Mary Katherine Miller on July 7, 1984 at Botetourt Co., Virginia.² David Earl Dudding and Mary Katherine Miller were divorced on September 1, 1994 at Bedford Co., Virginia.⁵ David Earl Dudding married Cheryl Joan Williams on June 26, 1999 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.² David Earl Dudding and Cheryl Joan Williams were divorced on December 22, 2000 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁵ David Earl Dudding died on June 19, 2018 at Virginia at age 56.³ He David E. Dudding, sadly left his earthly home on June 19, 2018. Preceding him in death was his mother, Iva; and his brother, Junior. Survived by his father, Pete Dudding; children, Ashley Long, Amber and Matthew Dudding and Kelly Williams; sisters, Linda and Nancy; 10 grandchildren; and many loving family members. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Hilcrest Cemetery at Blue Ridge, Va. on June 28, 2018.³

     Linda Gail Dudding Linda Shepherd, 66, of Roanoke, passed away on December 9, 2024, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA. She was born in Roanoke, VA on July 30, 1958 and was preceded in death by her truest love, Charles Edward "Eddie" Bush; her parents, Iva and Pete Dudding; her two brothers, Junior and David Dudding; and her second husband, Melvin Shepherd. Linda is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kay Whitcomb (Tim); her grandchildren, Jordan and Alyson Whitcomb; great grandson, Loyal Whitcomb; her sister, Nancy Hall (Darrel); and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed, but we find comfort in knowing that she is with love ones.⁴ She was born on July 30, 1958 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,4 As of October 18, 1975,her married name was Bush.² She married Charles Edward Bush on October 18, 1975 at Botetourt Co., Virginia.^2,4 As of July 30, 2002,her married name was Shepherd.² Linda Gail Dudding married Melvin Paris Shepherd on July 30, 2002 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,4,2 Linda Gail Dudding died on December 9, 2024 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 66.⁴

     Melvin Paris Shepherd Melvin Paris Shepherd, 70, of Roanoke passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Petie and Georgia. His daughter Deana and his brother Wayne. Melvin was survived by his loving wife of 15 years Linda Shepherd, as well as his son Kevin. Also surviving are numerous nephews and cousins.⁴ He was born circa 1947.⁴ He married Linda Gail Dudding, daughter of Charles Willard "Pete" Dudding and Iva Gay Nichols, on July 30, 2002 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2,3 Melvin Paris Shepherd died on April 8, 2017 at Roanoke, Virginia.⁴
