Jay was the only son of the late Dr. Johnsey Lee Leef and Rose Marie Leef. He grew up in Richwood, West Virginia, an idyllic and close-knit community that helped shape Jay into the man he became. Jay lived in Charleston, West Virginia where he was a radiologist for 44 years from 1974-2014. Jay loved his career as a radiologist and was a well respected mentor to many. He was at the forefront of radiological imaging and introduced many technological advances to the Charleston area. Jay was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Richwood High School in 1961. He graduated from Marshall University in 1964 with a major in Biology/Pre-Med. He graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine with Alpha Omega Alpha Honors in 1968. Jay interned at Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital in Pennsylvania in 1969. He proudly served in the United States Army as Captain and medical doctor from 1969-1971. He completed a residency in radiology at the University of Virginia in 1974. Jay worked as a radiologist at Charleston Area Medical Center where he was Chief of Staff in 1987 and served on the Board of Trustees from 1987-1991. In 1989, Jay became a Fellow of the American College of Radiology. Jay also served as a member of the West Virginia State Occupational Pneumoconiosis Board from 1991-2017. Jay was known for his humble and generous spirit as well as his sharp wit and sense of humor. He relished his roles as radiologist, husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid bird hunter, boater and collector of antique furniture and guns. He enjoyed many fun and adventurous travels with his wife, family and friends. Jay is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Alfreda Marie Leef; his children Alison Leef Corbin (Ryan) and Johnsey Lee Leef, III (Margaret); and his grandchildren Asher Lee Casto, Ryan Trent Corbin, Jr., Ethan McLeod Leef, Henry Lee Leef, John Edward Leef and Lucy Rosamond Leef.4 He was born on October 30, 1943 at Kanawha Co., West Virginia.2,3,4 He married Alfreda Marie Ann Corradi on June 11, 1966 at Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia.2 Dr. Johnsey Lee Leef Jr. died on June 14, 2020 at West Virginia at age 76.3,4

She retired five years ago from Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital (the Miner's Memorial Hospital) after 50-plus years of employment. Jenna Lee is loved and heart-breakingly missed by her daughter, Sharon Brown Wisner and son-in-law, Bobby, formerly from Cape Coral, Florida, now residing in Beckley; her son, Gary Nathan Brown and daughter-in-law, Pam, of Beckley; two grandsons, Nathan Alan Brown of Stockbridge, GA, and companion, Dana Cargile, and Christopher James Brown of Fayetteville, currently a student at MSU in the PA program; a sister, Mary Lou Minor Falterman of Austell, GA; and a brother, Floyd Minor Jr. of Masula, Montana; two stepgrandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Jenna Lee is a member of the Bethlehem Chapter #71, Order of the Eastern Star. Although she was raised in the Baptist faith, she supported the Methodist faith. When we reflect on Jenna Lee, we remember she was the loving and supportive wife of Nathan for 62 years and the greatest, kindest, loving mother and grandmother. God surely blessed us, we her family. When Jenna Lee worked midnight shift at the hospital, she was still present for all ballgames, band concerts, Girl and Boy Scouts meetings and events for the Rainbow Girls. She was "The Rock" behind her loving family. There were numerous times she also lent a hand to care and help neighbors, friends and co-workers unselfishly. The void our family faces without the support of our Mother and Daddy, "No words can ever fully explain." We would like to thank all those who have visited and talked with Mom and "us." Thanks for all the support and kind words. Jenna Lee will then be laid to rest beside her beloved Nathan in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Prosperity. Mr. Srnec also was a volunteer for the Ferndale Fire Department. Other interests included cabinet making, musical instruments, fixing lawn mowers, building houses, and repairs on small engines. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Myrtle H. Murdock Srnec; four sons, Walter Srnec of Overleigh, Alfred Srnec of Towson, Robert Srnec of Milton, N.H., and Kenneth Murdock of Westminster; five daughters, Gloria Potter of Overleigh, Kathy Grimes of Brooklyn, Peggy Myers of Hanover, Sue Claypool of Glen Burnie, Kitty Cecil of West Virginia; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. on December 12, 1990.3
