She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Showalter; paternal grandparents, Donald and Beatrice Brown; maternal grandparents, John and Lessie Robosky; and a nephew, Justin Andrew Smith. Those left to cherish her memory other than her parents are a daughter, Heather Showalter of Beckley; a sister, Cynthia Poindexter and husband, Doug, of Siler City, N.C; stepdaughter, Lori Allen of Crab Orchard; niece, Danielle Smith of Siler City, N.C; nephew, Michael Smith of Siler City, N.C; three step-grandchildren, Drew, Cory, and Felicia of Crab Orchard. Graveside rites will be at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. on March 20, 2009.3

Marvin Alan Eversole Marvin Alan Eversole, 69, a lifelong Beckley area resident, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021. "Alan" was born December 7, 1951, in Hazy, WV to the late Marvin McKinley Eversole and the late Dorothy Mae Estep Eversole. Alan attended Woodrow Wilson High School. He worked in the construction industry until he retired. Alan was a NASCAR and drag car race enthusiast, often attending nearby National Championship races. He is survived by his son, Cody Alan Eversole of Ghent and Cody's mother Marla Harris of Ghent; sister Dreama Pruett of Charleston, SC; brother Terry and his wife Cindy Eversole of Charlotte, NC. He was a loving father, brother and friend. Godspeed. The family would like to thank Alan's many friends for their outpouring of love and support.2 He was born on December 7, 1951 at Hazy, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.1,2 He married Sharon Marie Brown, daughter of James Nathan Brown and Jenna Lee Minor, on June 15, 1970 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.1 Marvin Alan Eversole died on March 26, 2021 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 69.2
