     His Social Security Number was 223-48-8743.³ Walter Louis Broughman Walter Louis Broughman, age 65, of 512 Brentwood Drive, Covington, Virginia, died, Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor. He was born on October 23, 1938 in Iron Gate, a son of the late James Edward and Ethel Belle Bradley Broughman. Mr. Broughman was employed by the former Hercules Plant, Covington and went on to retire from Covington City Schools in December of 2003. He was a member of the McCallister Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandsons, and close friends. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Anita Hill Broughman of Covington; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael Allen and Leigh Broughman of Covington , Kevin Louis Broughman of Covington, Brian Scott and Mary Beth Broughman of Clifton Forge, and Eric Todd Broughman of Covington; four grandchildren, Adam Keith Broughman, Holden Michael Broughman, Tyler Scott Broughman, and Brian Michael Broughman; one sister, Shirley Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Patricia and husband Reginald Howard of Gambrills, Maryland, and Diane and husband Wayne Barksdale of Covington; mother-in-law, Marie Hill of Covington; special friend, Eric Paxton of Covington; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, J. E. Broughman, Jr; and two sisters, Marion Broughman and Marie Madison. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Reverend Michael C. Fleenor officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Eric Paxton, Brad Morton, David Callahan, Gary Twitty, Timmy Yox, and Clayton Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Crawford, Carl Slaughter, and Curtis Stewart. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge and anytime at the residence, 512 Brentwood Drive, Covington.² He was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge, Alleghany Co., Virginia.² He was born on October 23, 1938 at Iron Gate, Alleghany Co., Virginia.^3,2 He married Anita Hill, daughter of Clyde Franklin Hill and Beulah Marie Crawford, circa 1962.^1,2 Walter Louis Broughman died on July 3, 2004 at Low Moor, Alleghany Co., Virginia, at age 65.^3,2
