Bobby Lee Woolwine Bobby Lee Woolwine, December 27, 1946 - October 25, 2023. Bobby Lee Woolwine, 77, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Walters Woolwine. Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn; his son, Jason Woolwine and Amy of Virginia Beach, Va; son, Christopher and Laura Taylor of Winchester, Va., granddaughters, Abigail Taylor of Naples, Fla., and Riley Woolwine of Virginia Beach, Va; grandsons, Carson Taylor of Winchester, Va., and Brayden Woolwine of Virginia Beach, Va; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Billy Swain of Salem. Va; and many nieces and nephews. Bobby was a dedicated Christian and a member of the Church of God in Salem, Va. He was a musician and singer who loved to play his guitar. In his spare time Bobby enjoyed bowling, but his passion was golf and spent many days on the course with his friends and family working to improve his game. Before his retirement, Bobby was a valuable employee of General Electric for 35 years. Bobby selflessly served our country as a member of the United States Army. He was honored for his service in Vietnam as a recipient of two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and a Silver Star. Before his passing, he resided at the Virginia Veterans Care Center. Born May 16, 1911, in McComas, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Berthenia Odle. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the First Church of God on Mahood Avenue in Princeton and it was there that she enjoyed being a member of various circle groups and ladies clubs. She was a retired baker at Mercer County Schools and Concord College. She loved flowers and keeping a garden. Martha was beautiful, and the most beautiful thing about her was her heart. She was a true friend to all who knew her. Her life was devoted to her family, her friends and the Lord. She was preceded in death by Ted Conner, her husband of 64 years at the time of his death in 1987. Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Piersall and Elaine Straley both of Sarasota; two sons, Donald Conner of Matoaka and Stuart Conner of Princeton; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and many countless friends whose lives she touched along the way. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with the Rev. Paul Hall officiating. Burial will follow. Those attending the service are asked to be at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton by 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. on August 20, 2002.1

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Bratton Memorial Chapel of Mercer Funeral Home. Rev. T. F. Herndon and Rev. W. W. Judy will officiate and burial will be the Monte Vista Park Cemetery. on April 24, 1962.3

Akers of Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Nell Epperly and Mrs. Elizabeth Hensley, both of Christiansburg, Va; three brothers, Harry Daingerfield of Redford, Va., Ed Daingerfield of Harrisburg, Pa., and Tex Daingerfield of Va; 14 grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren. A son, Lynn Akers died here July 2. The body was taken to the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Funeral rites will be conducted at the mortuary at 2 p.m., Tuesday by the Rev. Lester Ringham the Central Christian Church. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. on August 21, 1966.4
