Services were held at the Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery in Scottsdale on June 17. George was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Springfield, Mo., to Dewey and Amy Stevens. He moved to Iowa Falls in 1950, and was married to Kathleen Graham, daughter of Ellen and Lawrence Graham of Iowa Falls on July 7, 1951. George managed General Gas Corporation in Iowa Falls until the company was sold to Ferrellgas and he moved to Arizona in 1978. He was an active member of the Iowa Falls community serving on the Ellsworth College Board of Trustees, was the first president of the Iowa Falls Senior Citizen Housing and was instrumental in the development and construction of the Timberview Apartments. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus and held various offices in the Iowa Propane Gas Association. At the time of his death he was a tax consultant. George is survived by his wife, Kathleen; two sons, Mark of Scottsdale, Timothy and his wife, Laurel, of South Pasadena, Calif., and Joseph and wife, Rebecca, of Littleton, Colo; two daughters, Mary Pendergast and husband, John, of Culver City, Calif., and Anne Halversen and her husband, Douglas, of Scottsdale; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Boyd of Springfield, Mo., and Virginia Johnson and husband, Max , of Iowa Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dewey Stevens. Born Nov. 25, 1917 in Martin County, he was the son of William Harrison and Mable Blanche (Porter) Pruett. He married Inez Baker on Aug. 5, 1939 and she preceded him in death. He later married Mabel Gray on Dec. 27, 1946 and she also preceded him in death. He was owner and agent for Reuter Insurance Agency in Bedford for thirty-eight years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Bedford since 1947. He was a member of the Bedford Elks Lodge, a fifty-year member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM, a thirty year member of the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Allbright and husband, Keith of Shoals; two sons, James Lawson Pruett and wife, Susie and Charles Eugene Pruett all of Shoals; two grandsons, Michael Pruett and wife, Maria and Greg Allbright; one step-grandson, David Michael Trueblood and wife, Patty; five granddaughters, Tonya Pruett-Becker and husband, Roger, April Wiltz, Bridgette Pruett, Keitha Lynn Heiley and husband, D.J. and Renee Allbright; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; one brother, Charles Pruett of Trinity Springs; three sisters, Marie Demicco of Virginia, Betty Sandiego and Bernice Smith both of Muncie. He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, a son, William Robert Pruett; a step-daughter, Eloise Trueblood; a step-granddaughter, Karen Trueblood and five brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Mark Calvert-Rosenberger officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Masonic services conducted at 7 p.m. on November 20, 2012.3
