A graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park. on February 22, 2006.2

In later years she took pleasure in playing euchre with the Senior Citizen Euchre Club. She was employed at Quaker Maid for over thirty years, being very active in the Union and serving as shop steward and later as Vice President. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother Garold Eggers. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Hal Switz of Dunedin, FL, Sandra and Wayne Siegelin of Brazil; and one son and daughter-in-law, Toby and Jane Martin of Brazil, a sister Geneva Salitros of Plainfield, five grandchildren: Ronald Stinson, Craig Siegelin, Jeff Martin, Marsha Nicoson and Mark Siegelin; six great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Services will be at French Funeral Home Friday September 9, 2005 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00-8:00. on September 7, 2005.2

Jeffries, 77, of Brazil, passed away March 10, 2010, at 10:02 a.m. at his residence. He was born March 22, 1932, in Carbon, the son of Phillip A. Jeffries and Alma Martin Jeffries. He graduated from Van Buren High School. Tony served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. On Jan. 23, 1955, he married Chitra Hutchison Jeffries and together they raised their family in Brazil. He was one of the founders of the Clay Youth League and enjoyed coaching for many years. He served as Cub Master while his children were in scouting. He also was active in the Jaycees organization. He was a past member of the Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 264. He was a member of the American Legion Post 2. Following retirement, Tony could be found many days at the golf course and most mornings having coffee at the local Hardees with his friends. Tony worked for IBM in Greencastle for over 33 years, retiring in 1987, when the center closed. He later worked in management for Columbia House in Terre Haute, retiring from that position in 2000. Survivors include his wife Chitra Jeffries; six children, Ric and Linda Jeffries of Pimento, Kent and Debbi Jeffries of Terre Haute, Debbie and Jim Zimmerman of Brazil, Brent Jeffries of Brazil, Jon and Cindy Jeffries of Plainfield and Miranda Jeffries of Terre Haute; 15 grandchildren, Jacob (J.T.) Jeffries, Jennie (Dustin) Bush, Kevin Zimmerman, Evan Whitman (Alison), Benjamin Whitman, Joseph Whitman, Logan Whitman, Caleb Whitman, Taneya Jeffries, Michael Jeffries, Jessica Jeffries, Mackenzie Jeffries, Coleson Jeffries, Gavin Jeffries and Kayleen Grable; three great-grandchildren, Henry Bush, Emma Whitman and Luke Whitman; two sisters, Marlene (Don) Dowell and Judy Wright, all of Brazil; one sister-in-law, Paula Jeffries of Rockville; and mother-in-law, Beulah Hutchison of Cloverdale; and several nieces and nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dick Jeffries; and father-in-law, Chester Hutchison. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., in Brazil, with the Rev. Bill Price officiating. Music selections will be provided by Steve McCullough. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday one hour prior to services. Military graveside services will be provided by the American Legion Post 2 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 1127. Pallbearers will include his grandsons, Jacob (J.T.) Jeffries, Kevin Zimmerman, Evan Whitman, Benjamin Whitman, Joseph Whitman, Logan Whitman, Caleb Whitman, and Micheal Jeffries.
