Wayne had attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Roanoke, Va., since he was a young child and he looked forward to going to youth camp and other events at Camp Alta Mons. He loved his church family. Wayne enjoyed science fiction and especially enjoyed watching Star Trek. Retired from both the City of Salem Utility Department and Walmart, he greatly enjoyed the companionship of his cats and his special neighbor, Tina.
