Born Aug. 23, 1895, at Dempsey, he was the son of the late J. W. and Minnie Jane Maynor Cottle. He was a retired barber and a veteran of World War I. A member of the Fayetteville Methodist Church, he was also a member of the LaFayette Post No. 57, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, and the LaFayette Post No. 149, American Legion. Survivors include, his wife, Nettie N. Cottle; three sons, W. T. of Charleston and Charles M. and J. E. Cottle, both of Fayetteville; three brothers, L. C. and Guy, both of Fayetteville Rt. 2, and R. M. Cottle of Rand; two sisters, Mrs. O. A. Tamplin of Fayetteville Rt. 2 and Mrs. E. E. Goodman of Fairlea; and six grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Fayetteville Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles S. Thompson in charge. Burial will be in Huse Memorial Park at Fayelteville. The body will remain at the Dodd-Payne Funeral Home in Fayetteville and will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral. on November 29, 1963.5

He was born in South Charleston, W.Va., on November 5, 1928. Everett served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a graduate of the School of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a retiree of the Corps of Engineers in Huntington, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Alma Nugen; his loving wife of 57 years, Rose Agnes Nugen; his sister, Betty Cutlip; and brother David Nugen. He is survived by two daughters, Donna Nugen of Columbus, Ohio, Charlene DeBord of Huntington, W.Va; and one granddaughter, Jessica Burns of Huntington, W.Va. A memorial service will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Corey Adkins officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Chapman's Mortuary. Military rites will be conducted by Veterans Honor Guard Post 16. His remains will be placed at Mountain View Memorial Park, Richwood, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mount Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215-1039. on April 25, 2014.2

Rose loved to dance and tell stories, and she was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes and Halloween costumes for her daughters and granddaughter. She also enjoyed gardening, and grew many of her plants from seed in her greenhouse. Rose will be remembered by many through the cards she sent for birthdays and holidays, and for her baked goods at family gatherings and reunions. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Tiny Jiles. She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Everett Nugen; daughters Donna Nugen (Gary Marshall), and Charlene (Pat) DeBord; granddaughter Jessica Parsley; brother William "Bill" Girondo; and many other family members and friends. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, OH. A funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be on Tuesday at Mountainview Memorial Park, Richwood, W.Va.
