     Gail Guthrie Gail Lowman, Age 65, of Bentley Creek, PA passed away at home on Saturday, September 21, 2019 with her loving family at her side. Gail was born in Elmira, NY on March 30, 1954 daughter of the late Robert & Charlotte (Hall) Guthrie. She was a graduate of Southside High School and attended Elmira Business Institute. She and Bruce Lowman were married on March 5, 1971 and celebrated 48 years together. Gail was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, her flowers, crossword puzzles and spending time with her loving family. Survivors include her husband Bruce Lowman of Bentley Creek, a son and daughter-in-law, Allen A. (Maggie) Lowman of Tarpon Springs, FL, Penny S. (Tim) Arnold of Millerton, PA, Vallerie L. (Brent) MacWhinnie of Ulster, PA, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four sisters, Joan Guthrie, Linda Fesh, Anita Allis, Robin Guthrie, two nieces, one nephew and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents.³ She was born on March 30, 1954 at Elmira, Chemung Co., New York.³ As of March 5, 1971,her married name was Lowman.³ She married Bruce Lowman on March 5, 1971.^1,2,3 Gail Guthrie died on September 21, 2019 at Bentley Creek, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania, at age 65.³

Wayne was born November 27, 1932 in Buncombe County to the late James Vernon and Mary Pearl Shuford Burleson. A retired mason, he was owner/operator of Wayne’s Masonry for over 30 years in northern Virginia. Wayne was a member of Kemper-Macon Ware Lodge #64 A.F. & A.M. in Falls Church,VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Junior, Herman and Laurence Burleson. Surviving are his wife, Norma Jean Hall Burleson; sons, Ronald Burleson and wife Susie of Unionville, VA, Richard Burleson and wife Connie of Moyock, NC, Randall Scott Burleson and wife Carla of Purceville, VA, James Burleson and wife Kathy of Syracuse, Utah and Brian Hopkins and spouse Robbie of Barnardsville; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.      Sidney Willis Boothe Sidney W. Boothe, 88, of Hobart, Indiana passed away Thursday, September 08, 2016 at the VNA Hospice Center. He was born January 31, 1928 in Roanoke, Virginia to Clay & Marie (Young) Pinkert, one of 15 children. The great depression cut his education and childhood short to help support the family. Sidney made his career as a crane operator with Inland Steel for many years enabling him to indulge in Harley-Davidson motorcycles which in turn helped him impress the young ladies of the day. He is survived by his ten sisters: Edna, Rosetta, Dorothy, June, Pat, Sue, Edith, Shirley, Darlene & Joyce and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Junior, Lee, George & Andy. Interment Graceland Cemetery.⁴ He was buried at Graceland Memorial Park, 1505 E.      Samuel Phillippi Shumate Samuel Phillippi Shumate, age 65, of Wytheville, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018. He was a United States Army retiree. He was the son of the late Earl Monroe & Lela Maebelle Shupe Shumate, and was preceded in death by his brother Edward Earl Shumate. He is survived by two sisters, Sandra Montgomery of Wytheville, Nancy & Jim Graves of NC; four brothers and sister-in-law, Albert Ray Shumate of Dublin, VA, Joseph Leon Shumate of Crockett, VA, Daniel Martin & Christine Shumate of Wytheville, VA, and Barton Shumate of Wytheville, VA. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Nena was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal J. Samples, on January 1, 1999; cherished daughter, Marie Ann Knight, on February 16, 2008; beloved son-in-law, Gene Michael Knight, on May 2, 2006; and Marie's sister by choice; Dawn Day Calabrese on July 7, 2010. Dawn's surviving husband is Thomas Calabrese of Hurricane. Nena leaves behind her great-niece, Melissa Milam and husband, Michael, of Hurricane; her great-great-nieces, Alexis and Brooklyn Milam; and her great-great nephew, John Charles Bush. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
