April Wertz; six great-grandchildren, Justin Wade, Jeremy Wade, Kelsey Wade, Jennifer Garrett, Michael Ferguson and Nikki Phelps; and one great-greatgrandchild, A'Darius Pitt. on March 18, 2008.2

James Dewey Webb Mr. James D. Webb, age 82, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens. Jim was born to the late Dewey and Sylvia Webb in Roanoke, VA. He had a strong work-ethic and often shared stories about working at Mick-or-Mack grocery store, and delivering newspapers. For most of his working career he was employed as a provider associate for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Partners, and Travelers insurance companies, prior to United Healthcare where he retired. Jim loved classic cars and was an avid vintage toy collector. Gardening was also his passion. He took pride in his vegetable garden and maintained a beautiful, landscaped lawn. Being on his hands and knees pulling weeds and planting greenery was therapy to him, not work. After retirement, his main devotion was to his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Norma June Barnett Webb. She loved to bowl, gardening, growing flowers and arranging them. Often she enjoyed giving them to her family and neighbors. After retirement, her main devotion was to her grandchildren. Theodore Arthur "Ted" Hare Theodore Arthur Hare, (83) of Dillsburg, PA passed away on Monday, January 8th, 2024. Ted was born in Buffalo, NY on November 6, 1940 to Weston Andrew and Elizabeth (Abele) Hare. He was a graduate of Mt Pleasant High School in Wilmington, DE and Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA. He received his PhD in biochemistry at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, VA and held a post-doctoral position at Scripps Institute of Oceanography in La Jolla, CA for two years. He then was a professor and researcher of biochemistry at Thomas Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia for 35 years. He is survived by his wife Anita (Webb), his children Angela Hare and Brian Hare (Bridget), grandchildren Monica, Nathan, and Benjamin, his brother Wes (Jane), sisters Marjorie Coppock and Betsy (Paul) Hellenberg. Ted loved the outdoors and in college was a member of the Hillandalers, an outdoor enthusiast club. He was a Boy Scout and enjoyed working with his son as a scout leader and with both of his children as a leader in a coed Explorer group. Ted’s life centered around his family and his church, and he served in various service roles in the church throughout the years.
