Reese of Manassas; three daughters and son-in-law, Sherry and Richard Anderson, Knightdale, N.C., Sheila Reese of Manassas, Brittany Reese of Elliston; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Grant Willard Reese of Roanoke; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Mary Reese, Elliston, Bruce and Diane Reese, Eagle Rock, Haden and Carol Reese, James and Charlotte Reese, all of Vinton; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and George Litchard, Goodview, Carol and Richard Allison of Florida, Ann Ferguson of Haymarket, Helen Pridgen of Maryland; two brothers-in-law, Wallace Garlick of Bowie, Md., Gary Garlick of Arlington; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 25, 1999 at 12 noon at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with the Revs. Jack Bailey, and David and Andrea Woodhouse officiating. Interment will be in the Hall's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Ironto. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Lotz Salem Chapel. on October 24, 1999.²

The son of the late Frank and Virginia Spangler Furrow, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Furrow. Loretta was a very loving and devoted Mom and Mamaw. She loved her family and neighbors. She retired from Wolverine in Blacksburg, after 30 years of hard work. Loretta enjoyed her soap operas, game shows, and playing games on the radio. Loretta had a lot of sorrow in her lifetime that only made her the strongest Mom and Mamaw someone could be. She will never be forgotten and only loved more every day. Preceding her in death are her daughters, Sandra Akers and Pam Furrow; son, Wade Furrow; husband, Alvin Furrow; grandchildren, Bobbie Leigh Moses and Denny Akers. She leaves behind her daughter, Tammy Walters; son, Ricky Furrow; grandchildren, Samantha Shepherd and her husband Matthew, Dillon Walters, Derek Price, Tiffany Furrow Ratcliffe, and Daniel Furrow; great-grandchildren, Brook and Brandi Shepherd, Jacob, Haily, and Hunter Ratcliffe, and Harmony Furrow; as well as a son-in-law, Dennis Akers. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Horne Funeral Home. She has been reunited with her beloved son again after a trying nine years, Denny Akers. Also preceding her in death are her father, Alvin Furrow, sister, Pam Furrow, and brother, Wade Furrow. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Dennis Akers; daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Matthew Shepherd, of Salem; her grandchildren, Brook and Brandi; her mother, Loretta Furrow; sister, Tammy Walters; and brother, Ricky Furrow. She is also survived by her special dogs, Rascal, Foxie, and Tiny. Sandra had a special love of her grandchildren and her dogs. Friends may call anytime after 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Riverview Holiness Church. Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Riverview Holiness Church, with Brother Frank Woods officiating. Interment will take place at the Akers Family Cemetery in Ellett, Va. on February 23, 2013.⁴

Furrow; best friend and former husband, Bobby Price; the love of her life, her son, Derek Price; sisters, Sandra (Dennis) Akers, and Tammy (Jeff) Walters; brothers, Wade Furrow and Ricky Furrow; numerous nieces, nephews and friends; and a very special friend, Tonya Combs. Pam was a little woman with a big heart who ended every conservation with "I Love You." She wore her heart and emotions on her sleeve. She will be greatly missed by those who loved and cared for her. A Memorial Service will be held 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the Lafayette United Methodist Church, Lafayette, Va.      Ricky Lee "Trick" Furrow Ricky Lee “Trick” Furrow, 53 of the Ironto side of Elliston passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Preceding him in death are his parents, Alvin and Loretta Furrow; sisters, Sandra Akers and Pamela Price; brothers, Frank and Wade Furrow. Leaving behind to cherish his memory are his children, Tiffany (Jeffrey) Ratcliffe and Daniel Furrow; grandchildren, Jacob, Hailey and Hunter Ratcliffe and Harmony Furrow; sister, Tammy Walters, along with nephews, Derek Price and Dillon Walters and a niece, Samantha Shepherd; as well as a special cousin Tonya Furrow who was more like a sister. Ricky Furrow was a very hard working country boy who would drop everything to help someone out. He loved camping, fishing, friends and family. He had a very loving, strong heart and will be missed by all.
