Moose was past Chairman of the Board and Chairman of Folders and former choir member of First Christian Church, past treasurer of Sales Executive Club, past president of the Clover Club, served on the Sanitary Board, and was a member of Bluefield Lions Club, Bluefield Country Club, Bluefield Elks Lodge, Bluefield Moose Lodge, Beni Kedem Shrine, and was a member of American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Dennis, Reginald, and Scott Wickham; his first wife, Elnora Cheyney Wickham; and a daughter, Stephanie Reid. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Evelyn Stephens Wickham; a son, Freeman C. Wickham and his wife Bonnie of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Ronald Wickham of Marysville, Ohio, Sandra Wickham of Parkersburg, and Lorrie Wickham Rice and her husband Maj. Gary Rice of Hampton, Va; two great-grandchildren, Timothy and Emily Rice also of Hampton; and a special life long friend Donald Kersey of Bluefield. Wickham, 36, of Iaeger, roadmaster for the Norfolk and Western railway operating from Iaeger. Mr. Wickham was thrown from the car and died after being pinned beneath the car. Spokesmen for the railway said yesterday that the accident was caused when the car hit a dog which ran onto the railroad tracks and derailed. Two other railway employees, C. H. Hale, assistant trainmaster at Iaeger and N. C. Powell, foreman, who were riding with Mr. Wickham, escaped, with Powell sustaining only slight injury. Mr. Wickham is survived by his wife the former Miss Elnora Cheyney, of Bluefield, and one son, Freeman, aged six, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Noel F. Wickham of Bluefield, and four brothers, all of Bluefield. Mr. Wickham was born November 9, 1908, at Wilmore, Ky., and came to Bluefield at an early age. He attended the Bluefield schools, having graduated from Beaver high in 1929. Even before graduation from high school, he became interested in railroading, and upon graduation became foreman of a welding force of the N. and W. shops in Bluefield. Later he was transferred to Pulaski, Va., there to become assistant roadmaster at Wilcoe and became roadmaster at Wilcoe and in 1945 he was promoted to roadmaster at Iaeger. He was married to Miss Cheyney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. I. Cheyney, Bluefield, June 15, 1935. An active church worker, Mr. Wickham was a member of the First Presbyterian church at Welch a member of the choir and president of the Men's club. He was a member of the Iaeger Rotary club and one of the original members of the Covenanters, led by the Rev. Samual Moore. Burial will be in Monte Vista Park cemetery. The pallbearers will be Roy Payne, A. W. Stellar and T. A. Johnson of Welch; S. E. Eshbach and Clark Hale of Iaeger; A. S. Tinsley of Crews, Va; J. G. Hunter of Bluefield and Joseph S. Scott of Roderfield. on August 11, 1946.8

She was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class and the UMW Circle 3. She was a past president of the United Methodist Women. A generous gardener, Mrs. Webb was past president of the Sedgefield Garden Club (1980-82). She was an avid reader and astute bridge player. An effective advocate of the Library Committee for the Park Rd./Sedgefield Neighborhood Association, she was instrumental in the establishment the Scaleybark Branch of the Charlotte Public Library. A beloved wife, sister, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Louis B. Webb; daughter, Weeta Jane Wickham Baldwin and her husband, Bruce Baldwin, of Loganville, Ga; son, John M. Wickham and his wife, Jane Brantley Wickham, of Raleigh; four grandchildren, John Baldwin and his wife, Renee, of Atlanta, Susan Baldwin of Atlanta, Allison S. Wickham of Raleigh and Thomas M. Cheyney is chairman of the board of Bailey Lumber Company, a former president of that company before his retirement, and for a great many years active in the business and civic life of Bluefield. He is also a former member of the city board of directors. Survivors in addition to her husband and father are a brother (should be son), Freeman Wickham of Parkersburg and a sister, Mrs. Mary Cheyney Nelson of Toledo, Ohio. Mrs. Wickham was a member of the First Christian Church of Bluefield and of the Bethany and Jeter Circles of that church. She also taught Sunday School and sang in the Chancel Choir. Other membership included the McGuffy Book Club, little Gardens Club, Bluefield Civic Center, and Salvation Army Auxiliary. Mrs. Wickham attended Bluefield public schools, Bluefield College and Lynchburg College. on April 1, 1964.5

She married Reginald R. Wickham of Bluefield, and was widowed in 1982. She came to know Christ as her Savior at an early age, and fellowshipped for forty years with saints gathered to the Lord's name in Bluefield and Roanoke, and was beloved by her Christian brothers and sisters and her family, neighbors, and friends. She often asked people, "Do you know my Jesus?" In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Karnes of Bluefield, W. Va; and a brother, Curtis Sisson of Bluefield, Va. Survivors include her three sons, Larry E. and wife, Louise, of Mechanicsville, Va., Reginald C. (Jack) and wife, Carroll Anne, of Chesterfield, Va., and Phillip D. and wife, Jan, of Delaware, Ohio; a sister Beatrice Tyler of Salem, Va; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews on April 20, 2004.3
