A graveside service will be held Sunday November 3, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at UCC Christ Church Cemetery Conicville in Conicville. Officiating will be Reverend John F. Taylor Jr. Mr. Funkhouser was born July 11, 1938 in Washington D.C. son of the late William Sydney Funkhouser and Annie Marley Funkhouser. Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Federal Aviation Administration as a Police Officer. He is survived by a son, Charles W. Funkhouser II "Billy" of Mclean, Virginia; daughter, Ashby L. Harpine and husband, Ronnie of Broadway, Virginia; two grandchildren and one great grandson; a brother, Coy M. Funkhouser of Mathias, WV; and former wife Dianne Ashby of Centerville, Virginia.      Ralph Vernon Marley Mr. Ralph "Vernon" Marley, age 95 of Jefferson, passed away Monday, April 27th, 2015 in Wilkesboro. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015, 10:00 am at Dunkirk United Methodist Church with Pastor Kenny Bumgarner, Pastor Jacob Kiker, Pastor Steven Walsh and Pastor Joe Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Church cemetery. Mr. Marley was self-employed and retired as the owner of a processing plant, feed mill and store. He also cattle farmed. Mr. Marley was born November 21, 1919 in Wilkes County to Coy and Mary Virginia Dunn Marley. Mr. Marley was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Kenneth Vernon Marley, two sisters; Pauline Marley, Annie Marley Funkhouser, one brother; Turner Marley. He is survived by: two daughters; Barbara Ann Marley of Hudson, Jeannie Marley Corriher of Lenoir, two sons; Harold Dean Marley of Oak Island, Larry Carol Marley of Blowing Rock, Nine grandchildren, Thirteen great-grandchildren, One great-great grandchildren, one sister; Charlotte Marley Edminston of Ferguson and one brother; Paul Marley of Wilkesboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dunkirk United Methodist Church 162 East Greencrest Drive Millers Creek, N.C. 28651 or Wake Forest Care at Home Hospice, 126 Executive Drive, Suite 110, Wilkesboro, N.C.¹ He was buried at Dunkirk Methodist Church Cemetery, Ferguson, Wilkes Co., North Carolina.¹ He married Melba Gordon McNeil.² Ralph Vernon Marley married Mabel Walsh.³ Ralph Vernon Marley was born on November 21, 1919 at Wilkes Co., North Carolina.¹ He died on April 27, 2015 at Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., North Carolina, at age 95.¹

     Kenneth Vernon Marley was buried at Mount Hermon Methodist Church Cemetery, 2695 Alfred Hartley Road, Lenoir, Caldwell Co., North Carolina.³ He was born on February 23, 1941 at Caldwell Co., North Carolina.³ He died on January 25, 1988 at Hudson, Caldwell Co., North Carolina, at age 46.³

     Melba Gordon McNeil Melba McNeil Marley, age 86, of Hudson, NC, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at the residence. She was born July 29, 1921 in Wilkes County to the late Fred Wilder and Rachel Anna Walsh McNeil. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Vernon Marley; and two brothers, Fred Wilder McNeil, Jr. and Chelsie Marion McNeil. Mrs. Marley was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Ralph Vernon Marley of West Jefferson; one son, Larry Carol Marley of Blowing Rock; two daughters, Barbara Anne Marley of Oak Island, NC and Melba Jeannie Corriher of Lenoir; seven grandchildren, Farrow Wilder Seehorn, Jonathan Noel Seehorn, Kymberly Marley, Larry Carol Marley, II, Jennifer Anne Corriher, Amanda Marley Corriher and Carla Eve Corriher; and four great-grandchildren.
