Mrs. Ellis was born November 20, 1916 in Caldwell County to Charles and Ida McNeil Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Chelsie Hughes Ellis, two sons; Jesse Wayne Ellis and Royce Jones Ellis, one sister; Lucille Elledge, and one brother; Wayne Jones. She is survived by one daughter: Linda Huffman and husband, Joe of Wilkesboro, one son; Chelsie Charles Ellis and wife Sue of North Wilkesboro, one daughter-in-law; Peggy Ellis of North Wilkesboro, one brother; A.E. Hamby, seven grandchildren; Eric Ellis, Cathy Ellis, Steven Charles Ellis, Keith Thomas Huffman, Patricia Huffman Shacklette, Jeff Ellis and Derek Royce Ellis, 8 great grand-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
