     Ruth Elizabeth Lockett Ruth Lockett Hubble - Ruth Hubble, a long-time resident of Salem, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017. Born in 1938 in East Bottom (an area in Salem near the old ballpark) as part of the Lockett family, Ruth was Salem born and bred. She graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1957. As part of the reunion committee, she helped plan many high school reunions for the Class of '57. Ruth retired from the Salem VA Medical Center where she worked for more than 20 years serving our veterans. Ruth was able to enjoy over 20 years in retirement. She loved the sun and the beach. She also loved cooking, baking, and entertaining for friends and family. One of her favorite past times was playing bridge and with her long-time friends. She is survived by her only daughter Leslie Hubble and her sister Chris Harris. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends loved her dearly and know that she will now be with her momma Sarah or "Granny Lockett", sisters Jo, Emma Jean and Ginny, her brother Archie, her little dog "Katie" and our Lord in Heaven.3 She was born on November 28, 1938 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1,2 As of May 19, 1957,her married name was Hubble.1 She married Garland Lee Hubble, son of Samuel Henry "Sam" Hubble and Maudie Adeline Gearheart, on May 19, 1957 at South Carolina.1 Ruth Elizabeth Lockett and Garland Lee Hubble were divorced on November 14, 1960 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.1 Ruth Elizabeth Lockett died on July 20, 2017 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 78.3

     Lindsey Andrew Huffman Jr. was born on February 19, 1933 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,3 He married Phyllis Jean Hubble, daughter of Samuel Henry "Sam" Hubble and Maudie Adeline Gearheart, on January 1, 1960 at Chesterfield, Chesterfield Co., South Carolina.1 Lindsey Andrew Huffman Jr. and Phyllis Jean Hubble were divorced on January 7, 1974 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1 Lindsey Andrew Huffman Jr. died on July 22, 2015 at Ocala, Marion Co., Florida, at age 82.2 He Lindsey Andrew Huffman, Jr., of Ocala went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2015. Lindsey was born in Roanoke, VA to the late Virginia and Lindsey A. Huffman, Sr. He was veteran of the US Army, 11th Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. Lindsey retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad, in Roanoke, VA. Following his retirement, Lindsey and his wife moved to FL. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister. Lindsey is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Ann Marie; daughter, Tracey Manley and her husband, Keith of Goode, VA; grandchildren, Kimberly and Matthew Dieber; step-daughter, Karen Radford of Roanoke, VA and step-granddaughter, Amanda Radford. on July 26, 2015.2
