Terry, 77, of Parkersburg died January 1, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Surveyor, WV a son of the late Freeland and Lottie O'Neal Terry. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country proudly in the Pacific Theater, with the Navy Air Corps. He was a combat air crewman, flying in dive-bombers and participated in 43 bombing and strafing combat missions. He was awarded the Air Medal. After discharge from the Navy, he worked as a newspaper printer. He worked five years in Beckley, WV for the Beckley Post Herald and the Raleigh Register. He then worked for the Steubenville Herald Star in Steubenville, OH for five and a half years before moving to Parkersburg where he worked for the Parkersburg News and Sentinel for twenty-five years. After his retirement from the News he had several sales jobs including three car dealerships and others. He became a distance runner after his complete retirement at age 62. He ran in eleven consecutive National Half Marathon Championships receiving medals for all except the first one. He had a love for music, was an accomplished musician and played many instruments. He was also a singer. He sang in many groups through the years. The latest being the "Stern wheel Chorus" for several years. Arising from that group was a quartet called "The First Mates". He is survived by his wife of 58 years Alice M. Terry, three daughters and son-in-laws Sandra and Michael Walker of Palm Harbor, FL, Beverly and Marvin Kerr of Parkersburg, and Cindy and Kenny Hamilton of Winston-Salem, NC; three grandchildren Krista Discordia of Pennington, NJ, Scott Walker of South Royalton, VT, and Nathan Kerr of Huntington, WV; two great grandchildren Erin and Aiden Discordia of Pennington, NJ; and one brother Dennis O. Terry of Beckley, WV. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.2 He was born on July 17, 1925 at Surveyor, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.3,12,10,5,6,13,11 He married Alice Marie Nidiffer on August 30, 1944 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.3 Ralph Kendall Terry died on January 1, 2003 at Parkersburg, Wood Co., West Virginia, at age 77.2,12,10,13,11

"Mike" Walker passed away at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on Monday, January 23, 2012. He was born June 18, 1945, in Murray, Utah, to the late Mary L. Williams. He was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Michael Walker, and a brother, Stephen G. Williams. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Sandra Terry Walker of the home; his son, Michael Scott Walker, and wife Shari Elizabeth Walker, of Washington, DC; two sisters Debbie Baker and Vickie Williams of Desert Hot Springs, California; one brother, David Williams of Marietta, Ohio; his loving nieces and nephews; his precious God-children, Katherine Elizabeth Fritsch of Raleigh, North Carolina, and brother Evan Fritsch; and Jennifer Miller Kohl of Atlanta, Georgia, and her sister Erin Miller Franklin of Huntersville, North Carolina; and special "grand-pets," Rosco and Panther. Mike was raised in Parkersburg, West Virginia, where he met Sandy, his soul-mate, when they were children. He served as a medic in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant while serving in Ankara, Turkey. He recently retired from Winston-Salem Health Care where he was a Physician's Assistant for 20 years in internal medicine and dermatology. He also spent 8 years at Academic Alliance in Dermatology in Tampa, Florida. He was a graduate of the Bowman-Gray School of Medicine Physician's Assistant Program, and of the Wake Forest University Babcock School of Management, where he attained a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He also received a Master's degree in Physician's Assistant Studies with a specialty in Dermatology from the University of Nebraska. He was honored as a charter member and a distinguished fellow in the North Carolina Association of Physician's Assistants. He loved medicine and he loved his many patients. He was also a woodworker, and took pleasure in turning and shaping beautiful creations. His love of beauty and excitement led him to becoming a private pilot, a glider pilot, a skydiver, and a SCUBA diver. He loved playing golf, pool, and softball, and he was especially proud of his time spent coaching Scott's little league baseball team. He was a member of St. Clement's Episcopal Church in Clemmons, North Carolina, where he found peace and strength. We will all miss him and the impact he has had on our lives. on January 26, 2012.3
