     Larry David Miles was buried at Whitehead Joines Cemetery, Whitehead, Alleghany Co., North Carolina.⁴ He Larry David Miles, 79, of Vinton, Virginia, called home on December 20, 2025. Born in Whitehead, North Carolina on July 23, 1946, Larry was the son of the late John Raymond Miles Jr. and Earlene Joines Miles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Dean Miles, and his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Miles. He is survived by his son, Matthew David Miles; grandchildren, Dylan Miles and Chase Miles; sister, Wanda Miles Shaw and husband Ray; brother, John Martin “Marty” Miles and wife Charlotte; sister-in-law, Linda Nicholson Miles; and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1972. Following his military service, he worked for Appalachian Power Company, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee. He also devoted many years as an active volunteer with the Vinton Fire Department, serving faithfully until disability, after which he was honored as an honorary fireman. His commitment to service extended beyond emergency response—he spent many years delivering Christmas gifts to families in need and cooking community breakfasts alongside his fellow firefighters. Larry especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. He also enjoyed bowling and was a longtime bowling league member. He was an active member of Lynn Haven Baptist Church, where he professed his faith in Jesus Christ. He often shared his salvation story and spoke openly with coworkers and friends about his personal relationship with Christ. Burial will take place at Whitehead Joines Cemetery in Whitehead, North Carolina. Larry will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to service, and love for his family and community. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Davis and McDaniel Veterans Care Center in Salem, Virginia, and to Dr. Keeley, whose compassionate care was a blessing to Larry and previously to his daughter, Jennifer.⁴ He was born on July 23, 1946 at Whitehead, Alleghany Co., North Carolina.^1,3,4 He married Vickie Lynn Saunders, daughter of Hubert Everette Saunders and Cornelia Rebecca Boulding, on June 5, 1971 at Bedford Co., Virginia.¹ Larry David Miles and Vickie Lynn Saunders were divorced on September 1, 2000 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.² Larry David Miles died on December 20, 2025 at Virginia at age 79.⁴

     Jennifer Lynn Miles was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 1300 Mountain View Road, Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^5,6 Her Social Security Number was 227-17-0922.⁸ She was born on April 19, 1978 at Roanoke, Virginia.^4,5,6,8 She died on November 29, 2008 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 30.^5,6,7,8 She Jennifer Lynn Miles, 30, of Vinton, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008. Jennifer was born April 19, 1978. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John R. Miles Jr. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Vickie Lynn Gordon and Terry Lee Gordon, of Vinton; her father, Larry D. Miles, of Roanoke; one brother, Matthew David Miles, of Vinton; maternal grandparents, Cornelia and Hubert Saunders, of Vinton; and paternal grandmother, Earlene M. Miles, of N.C; aunts and uncles, Libby and Michael Taylor, of Tenn., Harold and Linda Miles, of Vinton, Wanda and Ray Shaw of N.C., and Marty and Charlotte Miles, of N.C; two nephews, Dylan Miles and Chase Miles; and a number of cousins from Tenn., N.C. and Roanoke; and special caregiver, Linda Lucas. Burial to follow in Mountain View Cemetery. on December 1, 2008.⁵

     Irvin Allen Flowers was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad Street, Galloway, Franklin Co., Ohio.⁴ He was born on June 22, 1984 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.³ He married Ava Elaine Foster, daughter of Michael Joseph Foster and Robin Ann Shepherd, on May 13, 2008 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2,4 Irvin Allen Flowers died on May 16, 2015 at Virginia at age 30.⁴ He Irvin Allen Flowers, 30, of Elliston, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015. He was preceded in death by his sister, Crystal "Crissy" Moore; and son, Irvin Allen Flowers Jr. Irvin is survived by his wife, Ava Foster Flowers; children, Katelyn Michelle Buckner, Rheygan Kay Flowers, and Irvin Allen Flowers II; mother, Wanda McNeil; father, David Flowers; brothers, Paul "George" Abbott, Jr., David Ray Flowers, Jr., and Bradley Flowers; nieces and nephews, Bethany Abbot, Grace Abbot, Paul Isaac Abbot, Tristan Basham, Wyatt Basham, Ethan Flowers, and Jacob Flowers; father-in-law, Danny Basham; and brother-in-law, "Little" Danny Basham. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. on May 21, 2015.⁴

"Ada" Elmore, on September 18, 1926 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.¹ John Lewis Sleath died on March 8, 1944 at Elkview, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 41.²

     Her Social Security Number was 280-38-0420.¹ Her married name was Sheward.¹ Betty Jo Sleath married Unknown Sheward.¹ Betty Jo Sleath was born on October 8, 1926 at Elkview, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.¹ As of June 22, 1946,her married name was Hammons.² She married Arthur Roland Hammons on June 22, 1946 at Spring Hill, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.² Betty Jo Sleath died on January 20, 1981 at Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio, at age 54.^1,4

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24, at Providence Friends Meeting on Providence Church Road, Pleasant Garden. A native of Columbus, he retired from Ross Laboratories. A devout Christian since youth, he spent his life supporting the work of the Lord, especially the Missions. He was preceded in death by parents, John Franklin Hammons and Maude Myrtle Harding Hammons; brothers and sisters, Vida, Elmer, Amy, William, Pauline, Dorthy, John, and Robert. He is survived by a brother, Kenneth Eugene Hammons. on November 21, 2007.⁴
