     Elmo J. Walter Jr. was buried at Vandergrift Cemetery, Vandergrift, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania.³ He married Cora Belle Cunningham.⁴ Elmo J. Walter Jr. was born on April 10, 1930 at Vandergrift, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania.² He died on June 21, 2014 at Brooksville, Hernando Co., Florida, at age 84.² He Elmo J. Walter Jr., 84, of Homosassa, Fla., formerly of Vandergrift, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Oak Hill Hospital, Brooksville, Fla. Born April 10, 1930, in Vandergrift, he was a son of the late Elmo and Elizabeth (Murphy) Walter. Elmo had owned and operated Walter Optical Lab in Vandergrift for 38 years prior to retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Vandergrift Presbyterian Church and a member of the F and AM Lodge No. 617 and the American Legion Post No. 114, both in Vandergrift, and he enjoyed golfing. Survivors include his daughter, Katey (David) Rayburn, of Michigan; two granddaughters, Nicole (John) Stachowicz, of Minnesota, and Rebecca Rayburn, of Allison Park; and two great-grandchildren, Ian and Isabelle Wallace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael James Walter. Interment will be in the Vandergrift Cemetery. on June 29, 2014.²

Survivors include: her daughter, Katey (David) Rayburn of Big Rapids; two granddaughters, Nicole (John) Stachowicz of Madison,WI and Rebecca Rayburn of Allison Park; two great-grandchildren, Ian and Isabella. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by: her son, Michael J. Walter; and a brother, James W. Cunningham. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA.¹ Her married name was Walter.¹ She married Elmo J. Walter Jr., son of Elmo J.      Elizabeth Emiline VanTassel was born on June 26, 1922 at Rath Mill, Jefferson Co., Pennsylvania.² As of February 8, 1951,her married name was Walters.¹ She married Herbert Leroy Walters, son of Marlin Jefferson Walter and Mary Malissa Pierce, on February 8, 1951 at Trumbull Co., Ohio.^1,2 Elizabeth Emiline VanTassel died on December 15, 2019 at Leechburg, Armstrong Co., Pennsylvania, at age 97.² She Elizabeth Emiline "Liney" VanTassel Walters, 97, of Avonmore, formerly of Vandergrift, passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, at Pleasant Ridge Nursing in Leechburg. She was born Monday, June 26, 1922, in Rath Mill (Jefferson County) and was a daughter of the late John C. and Edith L. Kougher (Kocher) VanTassel. Elizabeth loved to travel. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and spending time with her family. She also loved to cook and bake. Before her retirement, she was employed in housekeeping for 10 years at Belaire Nursing Home. Prior to that, she owned and operated Walters Market on Dime Road in Vandergrift. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Herbert Leroy Walters; two children, Richard Walters, of Chesapeake, Va., and Jeannie Walters, of Liberty Borough; four grandchildren, Carye Walters and his wife, Bethany, of the Netherlands, Clark Walters and his wife, Tammy, of Chesapeake, Va., Melissa Bramhall and her husband, John, of North Huntingdon, and Rebecca Payne, of Liberty Borough; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ford and Rex VanTassel; her sister, Ruth Kocher; stepbrothers, Lawrence and Cecil Kocher; stepsister, Nadine Fink; and her stepfather, Ephrem "Eph" Kocher. on December 17, 2019.²

     Richard Leroy Walters Richard Leroy Walters, September 6, 1951 - January 7, 2022. Richard L. Walters, 70, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022. He was born in Pennsylvania to Herbert and Elizabeth Walters. He is predeceased by his mother and his wife of over 30 years, Christine Walters. He was an accountant and an avid woodworker. He leaves to cherish his memory his two sons Carey Walters (Bethany) and Clark Walters (Tamara), his father Herbert L. Walters, and one sister Jeanne Walters. He also leaves two grandchildren Heidi and Zachary Walters, many other relatives and friends.² He married Christine Unknown.² Richard Leroy Walters was born on September 6, 1951 at Pennsylvania.² He died on January 7, 2022 at Virginia at age 70.²

Born in Washington Township, he was the son of the late William and Lula Walter and lived in Vandergrift until 1985. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army and had been employed at the Vandergrift Plant of Wean United, as a roll turner. He had been a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church and the VFW, both in Vandergrift, and the Apollo Elks. Survivors include his wife, Angie Capuzzo Walter; a son, Thomas of Monroeville; a daughter, Becky Majersky of East Vandergrift; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Sophie Gemza Walter. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial, Lower Burrell. on May 2, 2005.¹
