Powell and David Edward Powell, both of Rustburg; many beloved nieces and nephews; and she will also be missed by many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Edith Powell Willoughby; and two brothers, Henry Louis Powell and William Andrew Powell Jr. Burial followed in Briarwood Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral home Dec. 17. She was honored by pallbearers Joel Duncan, Keath McKinney, George Parrish, Greg Pingley, Jimmy Martin Jr., Jared Pingley and Logan Pingley. on December 22, 2010.⁴

Hutcherson, Jr. who predeceased her on July 2, 2012. During her later years she operated Cecile's Ceramics specializing in handmade roses. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Robertson Bennett Chapter #70 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was organist. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Frances Hutcherson Grant, and three brothers. She is survived by a son, Jesse M. "Marty" Hutcherson, III of Eugene, Oregon.
