     Jack Raffensberger Jr. Jack Raffensberger, Jr., 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial, Roanoke, VA due to complications from Mantel Cell and T cell Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma and recently was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Jack was born on 01-02-1959, in Girard, PA, the son of Jack, Sr. and Janet (Hayes) Raffensberger. Preceding him in passing: Parents: Jack and Janet Raffensberger, Paternal Grandparents, Raymond and Evelyn (Daggett) Raffensberger, Maternal Grandparents, Robert and Thelma (Lawrence) Hayes, and a uncle, Jerry Raymond Raffensberger. Jack graduated from Girard High School, class of 1977. Following graduation, Jack worked for the Girard School District for 29 years, and continued his hard work ethics with the Montgomery County School District until his diagnosis with Lymphoma in June, 2020. Survivors include his loving wife (Cristal Huff Raffensberger) Cristal’s children and Papa’s Jack’s grandchildren: Cristy (Keith) Keiper, grandchildren, Zachary Huff and Kaylin Keiper of Dublin, VA and Sabrina (Andy) Rutledge and grandson, Colton of Narrows, VA. Jack’s daughter Alicia Raffensberger Tellers (Michael) and Papa Jack’s grandchildren, Anthony, Owen and Cecilia Tellers of Erie, PA. Jack is also survived by his six siblings: Debra (Thomas) Karwoski, Sue (Paul) Frey, Sandy, Karen, Sheri Raffensberger and his brother, Jeffrey (Denise) Raffensberger. Survived also by many nieces and nephews, as well as his Uncle & Aunt, Richard and (Dottie) Hayes of Albion, PA. Jack was mostly known for his quick wit and big heart to all those he was in contact with, especially the special needs students. Jack was one of the “Good Guys”, always positive and happy-go-lucky! He will forever be loved and cherished through the countless (funny) memories we have all made with him throughout the years.² He was born on January 2, 1959 at Girard, Clearfield Co., Pennsylvania.² He married Cristal Kay Nichols, daughter of Junior Allen Nichols and Vioma Lee Hale, on June 27, 2010 at Virginia Beach, Virginia.^1,2 Jack Raffensberger Jr. died on January 30, 2021 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 62.²

     Barbara Ann Leonard was buried at Gray Family Cemetery, Chamblissburg, Bedford Co., Virginia.⁴ She was born on September 26, 1952 at Roanoke, Virginia.³ As of January 7, 1997,her married name was Hale.¹ She married Ricky Lane Hale, son of Frank Wilson Hale Jr. and Lillie Belle "Linda" Howard, on January 7, 1997 at Roanoke, Virginia.¹ Barbara Ann Leonard and Ricky Lane Hale were divorced on March 22, 2002 at Bedford Co., Virginia.² Barbara Ann Leonard died on June 6, 2016 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 63.⁴ She Barbara Leonard Hale, 63, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mose E. and Clara S. Leonard; brothers, Ed and Freeman Leonard; and sisters, Mavis Dowell, Iris DeWeese and Charlotte Brown. Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Charlie M. Leonard and Tony V. Leonard; and three sisters, Elizabeth G. Leonard, Patricia G. Leonard and Martha R. Leonard. Graveside Services will be held at the Gray Family Cemetery in Bedford County, Va. on June 11, 2016.⁴

     Roger Wayne Hale Roger Wayne Hale, 70, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away peacefully at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Hale; his grandparents, Sue & Arlie Saul; and his stepfather, Billy Hylton. Roger was born on July 6, 1955 in Roanoke, Virginia and grew up on the S.E. side of the city. At an early age he had a love for music and began to play in various bands. Roger was most notably known for playing in the band, Cimmaron. Roger was quiet in his ways, but he would tell you what he thought when needed. He is at peace now and will be forever loved by his family, friends and music buddies. Roger is survived by his mother, Shirley Hylton; half-sister, Sharon Marsh; half-brothers, Buck and Glenn Hylton; his former wife and friend, Sandi Hale; his aunt and cousins; close friends and caregivers, Dennis and Linda Hudson; and his special friend, Bobby Smith. Roger’s friend and bandmate, Bobby wrote this about their friendship...”It’s hard putting almost 60 some years of friendship into a few words, so, I’ll hit a few of the highlights of our music venture. Me and Roger met at the Garden City under construction softball field when we were 13 or 14 yrs old and found out we both played guitar. We started playing in my granddad’s gospel group, then on to the Living Stones Gospel Quartet. At age 15, we started our own variety band, The Waylows and worked our way through high school. Then, we hooked up with Jim Martin a.k.a. The J. Murphy Martin Band and toured up and down the East Coast. In 1979, Cimmaron was started and Roger would be with the band off and on for some 47 years. He played guitar, bass when needed, and sang for the group. Roger also played bass for the Jimmy Wilson tribute to Willie Nelson Band. After this many years, the guys are more than friends, they are one big family. I will miss my friend as all his bandmates will, too.” Entombment at Sherwood Memorial Park Mausoleum.⁴

     Her Social Security Number was 224-32-3219.³ Dorothy Marie Hancock Dorothy Hancock Hale, 81, of Roanoke, Va., died on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.⁴ She was born on July 11, 1928 at Craig Co., Virginia.^2,3 As of July 23, 1977,her married name was Hale.¹ She married William Wayne "Billy" Hale, son of Frank Wilson Hale Sr. and Elsie May Aldridge, on July 23, 1977 at Roanoke, Virginia.¹ Dorothy Marie Hancock died on January 5, 2010 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 81.^4,3

     Charlie Walter Robertson Sr. was buried at Henry Memorial Park, 8443 Virginia Avenue, Oak Level, Henry Co., Virginia.^7,2 His Social Security Number was 229-09-0312.³ He was born on May 30, 1920 at Sydnorsville, Franklin Co., Virginia.^1,3,5,6 He married Jamie Clyde Altis, daughter of James Elmer Altis and Bertha Clyde Aldridge, on June 18, 1938 at Martinsville, Virginia.¹ Charlie Walter Robertson Sr. and Jamie Clyde Altis were divorced on March 13, 1941 at Franklin Co., Virginia.⁸ Charlie Walter Robertson Sr. died on October 18, 1999 at Martinsville, Virginia, at age 79.^2,3,9,4 He Charlie W. Robertson, Sr., 79, of Rocky Mount, died October 18, 1999, in Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. He was a son of Rufus R. and Maggie F. Robertson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, "Little Thomas" Robertson. He retired from Pulaski Furniture Company and was a member of New Vision Baptist Church. He played in many blue grass bands over the years in Franklin and Henry Counties and was a member of the Fiddle and Banjo Club in Roanoke. Surviving are his wife, Carlene Rakes Robertson; his children, Mrs. Sammy (Gaynell) Hardie, Charlie W. Jr. (Debbie) Robertson, Louis Robertson, George D. (Donna) Robertson, Mrs. Jerry (Donna) Jefferson; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Carroll (Mary) Hankins; a brother, George (Mattie) Robertson. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park. on October 19, 1999.²
