     His Social Security Number was 579-30-9342.4 Dr. Charles Hardy Cookman Dr. Charles Hardy Cookman, 79, of Dunn died Monday morning, March 26, 2007, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. He was born in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 11, 1927, to the late Lloyd E. and Susan H. Cookman. In 1948, Dr. Cookman started his ministry in Timberidge, W.Va., then to Capon Springs, W.Va., then to Calvary Assembly of God in Staunton, Va., where he was the founding pastor. He pastored at Central Assembly of God in Charlotte, North Carolina (now know as ChristLife Church) from 1957 until 1966. From April 1966 until May 1992, Dr. Cookman served as superintendent of the North Carolina District Council of the Assemblies of God. He also served on the board of Southeastern University (formerly Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God, Lakeland, Fla.) and for ten years was the Vice-President of the board. Also he served on the board of Heritage Bible College in Dunn. Since 1994 he was the Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Friends Forever Missionary Fellowship based in Pinehurst, North Carolina, with outreach in the great Montego Bay, Jamaica areas, and Guyana, South America. Additionally, he served as a General Presbyter of the General Council Assemblies of God. The burial followed at Devotional Gardens in Dunn. Survivors include his wife, Esther Grogan Cookman; sons, Noel H. Cookman of Flower Mound, Texas, Charles Wesley Cookman of Fayetteville and John Calvin Cookman of Raleigh; daughters, Carol C. Pierce of Colerain and Claudia C. Redd of Waxahachie, Texas; a brother, Jack Cookman of New York, N.Y; sisters, Alta McGill of Columbia, S.C., and Jane Cridor of Rock Hill, S.C; grandchildren,Charles "Zack" Cookman, Travis Pierce, Brandon Pierce, Andy Cookman, Melody Redd Soules, Chip Redd, Harmony Redd, Britney Pierce, Tambour Redd andTaylor Cookman; and great-grandchildren, Rhianne Miles and Wesley Soules.7 He was buried at Devotional Gardens, Dunn, Harnett Co., North Carolina.2,7 He was born on August 11, 1927 at Washington, D.C..2,4,5,6,7 He married Esther Rhoda Grogan, daughter of Emerson Gael Grogan and Ruby Alley, on October 9, 1948 at Washington, D.C..1,2,8,9,3,7 Dr. Charles Hardy Cookman died on March 26, 2007 at Raleigh, Wake Co., North Carolina, at age 79.2,4,10,7
