Interment will follow in the Wimmer Family Cemetery, Roanoke County. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. on July 18, 2000.2

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; sons, Michael Lowell (Michelle) and Morgan Leslie (partner Frank Fox); three grandsons, Dustin Michael (Kathy), Chad Lowell and Matthew Ryan and his precious great-grandson, Seth Lowell. Lowell and Jackie were married at the Lomita Community Church on December 10, 1948, 62 years ago. Lowell was very proud of his family and was a gentle, caring family man who loved them deeply. He was especially proud of the fact that there were four Lowell's in the family. He graduated from the "old" Narbonne High School in 1943. Immediatly after graduation he was drafted into the Army Air Force. After discharge he attended Curtiss Wright Technical Institute and became a master aviation mechanic. His first boss found it hard to remember the name Lowell and called him "Curley". The name stuck throughout all of his years in that industry. After several years as a mechanic, service manager and parts manager, he went to work for Van Dusen Aircraft as a salesman. It was a career he dearly loved and won many awards as the best salesman in the U.S. Lowell was the founder of the Southern California Blades Knife Collectors Club and at the time of his death was director emeritus. He also owned a business of selling collectors' knives, S&S and Sons Cutlers. He was a talented woodworker, crafting furniture, toys and various other items. Lowell was a pastor master of Lomita Masonic Lodge, now Angels Gate, a member of South Torrance Lions Club and a very proud, active member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Hawthorne where he had served as an elder. A memorial service for Lowell will be held at A.M. Gamby Funeral home on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's disease Foundation., 1359 Broadway, Suite 7509, NY, NY 10018 or Calvary Presbyterian Church, 13560 Hawthorne Blvd., Hawthorne, CA 90250. on April 16, 2011.4
