     Billy Everette Simpkins II Captain Billy E. Simpkins II, 59, of Point Pleasant, WV passed away Wednesday, December 08, 2021, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, WV with his family at his side. He was born May 17, 1962, in Point Pleasant, son to Billy Everett Simpkins I, and Patty Ann Stewart of Point Pleasant. Bill attended Point Pleasant High School. Bill chose to follow a family tradition and began his career on the river in 1979 as a deckhand, later becoming a Pilot. He was currently employed as a Captain by Bellaire Harbor Services, Bellaire, Ohio. He was a member of the Point Pleasant Moose Lodge #731, he was an avid golfer and member of Cliffside Golf Course, Gallipolis, Ohio. Bill would joke that he loved animals more than people, especially his Chlobug. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Zelda Simpkins, Jess and Rose Likens; his stepmother, Betty Jo Simpkins, his father-in-law, David "Gene" Bennett and mother-in-law, Betty Mae Bennett Rawlins. He was also preceded by his uncles Carl "Sonny" Simpkins and Harry "Moke" Simpkins. Bill is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Janet A. Simpkins, of Point Pleasant, daughters, Kaitlyn "Katie" Simpkins of Charlotte, NC and Jessie Simpkins of Point Pleasant, WV; Sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Randy Birchfield, of Point Pleasant, sisters-in-law, Charlene (Jeff) Anderson of Polk City, FL and Jean Ann (Jeff) Smith of Cumming, GA. Nephews, Brandon (Nikki) Roush of Point Pleasant, Jonhathan (Mikala) Malone of Huntington, WV. Nieces, Gracie and Lauren Smith of Cumming, GA, Jazmyne Malone of Polk City, FL. Great-nieces, Havin, Brynn and Bralee Roush of Point Pleasant, Great-Nephew, Oliver Malone ofHuntington, WV. As well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.3 He married Janet A. She was a riverboat cook with American Electric Power. Betty Jo was born on November 7, 1955, in Southside, a daughter to the late Roy and Virginia (Myers) Williamson Love. Betty Jo is survived by her husband, Bill Simpkins; two children and their spouses, Paula and Randy Birchfield, of Gallipolis Ferry and Billy and Janet Simpkins, of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Brandon and Nikki Roush, Jessica Simpkins and Kaitlyn Simpkins; great-grandchildren, Havin, Brynn and Bralee Roush; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Dale Lou Williamson, of Southside and Sharon and Joseph Antal, Jr., of Point Pleasant. Hoffman, age 54, of McFarland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 29, 2020, at his home. He was born on July 18, 1965, in Prairie du chien, the son of Duane and Linda (Mason) Hoffman. He married Gerri Simpkins on Oct. 29, 1993, in Point Pleasant, WV. Brian graduated from Bloomington High School in 1983. after graduation, Brian attended airline school. He then worked for air Wisconsin airlines and later became supervisor for delta Global Services. Brian worked at ten airports all over the country and was proud of his 30- year airline career. Brian enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle, which was his prized possession. Most of all, Brian loved spending time with his family and making memories with them all over the world. Brian is survived by his wife, Gerri; sons, Andrew (Laura) Hoffman and Michael (Abigail) Hoffman; parents; granddaughters, Adalynn and Anna; grandson, Nathan; brother, Brad (nancy Frohna); sister, Wendy (Gerald) Moris; paternal grandmother, Leta; brother-in-law, Craig (Kim) Simpkins; father and mother-in-law, Pam and Moke Simpkins; nieces, Sydney, Lela, and Sofia; and nephews, Mason, Justin and Kodi. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Andrew Hoffman; maternal grandparents, Ruth and Melvin Mason; and nephew, Aiden Hoffman. on May 31, 2020.2
