He was a dedicated family man who loved his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandsons; one great-grandson; brothers, Robert and Ernest Havens; and sisters, Ethel Shrader and Katherine Gills. Left to cherish his memory are: His wife of 52 years, Joyce Pickett Havens of the home; sons: David Havens of Sandlick, W.Va., Craig Havens and wife Cindy of Sandlick, W.Va., Bernard Ratcliff and wife Deborah of Columbus, Ohio; daughters: Bernice Lucado and husband Buck of Bluefield, W.Va., Shirley Miller and Pat Tiller of Rock, W.Va., Judy Norris of Mooresville, N.C., Regina Pennington and husband Robert of Lashmeet, W.Va; sisters: Bertha Mitchem and husband Blonnie of Princeton, W.Va., Elanor Taylor and husband Woody of Bear, Del; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell. Pallbearers will be E.L. Rickman, Doug Miller, Justin Havens, Adam Havens, Scottie Havens, and Eddie Davis. The Bluefield Moose Lodge #1078 will conduct the Pilgrim Ceremony at 7:30 p.m. the evening of the visitation. on September 8, 2008.3

Thorn of Elyria, OH, her grandsons, Patrick Collins and Daniel (Marion) Collins, her great grandson, Preston and her long time companion, Mack Snyder of Lorain. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leon was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert G. Skelly in 1973, her second husband, Louis P. Leon in 1989 and her brother, David Thorn. The family will receive friends and relatives in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 W. Erie Ave., Lorain, OH 44052 on Wed., September 8, 2010 from 11 A. M. till noon, the time of the funeral service with The. Rev. Mr. Jeff Sweitzer, chaplain of the Hospice of the Western Reserve officiating. She was born in Beckley, WV and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School class of 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents Basil and Alma (Lilly) Pittman, her husbands Thomas "Mickey" Rodes and Richard Wendelken. Also, her sisters Doris Riedlinger and Patty Reid, as well as her in laws Timmy Rodes and Ellen Pruett. Shirley is survived by her children Jerry Rodes, Pamela (John) Dolinger and Michael (Leslie) Rodes; step children Steve (Chris) Wendelken, Rick Wendelken, Debbie Nelson and Joy Levio. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Two sisters, Barbara Hamilton and Mary Maxey, and a sister-in-law Sue Nazworth. Many nieces, nephews and others she treated as grandchildren including Andy Brooker and his children. Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 1:30 PM. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 AM until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home. His is survived by his wife Shirley Wendelken of Marietta, children Debbie Nelson of GA, Steven Wendelken of OH, Rick of VA, and Joy of AL, step-children Jerry Rodes of Marietta, Pam of WV, and Michael of FL; brothers Mervin Wendelken, and David Wendelken. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Richard was a member of Soul’s Harbor Baptist Church and active in the local Gideon’s group. He previously owned several local businesses in the Marietta area. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, August 5th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Patricia Ann "Pat" Pittman Patricia Ann Reid, 67, formerly of Beckley, died Monday, May 29, 2006, in Stevenson. Born July 25, 1938, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Basil Wayne and Alma Mae Lilly Pittman. Mrs. Reid was a homemaker and had been a resident of Stevenson for the past two years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alexander Reid, in 1993, and a sister, Doris Lee Redlinger. Survivors include her two daughters, Kim Arndt and her husband, Dwayne, of Stevenson and Debbie Davis and her husband, Arthur, of Daniels; four sons, Robert A. Reid II of Franklinton, N.C., Charles W. Reid of Greenville, S.C., and James Shawn Reid and W. Scott Reid, both of Beckley; three sisters, Barbara Hamilton of Boise, Idaho, Mary Maxey of Crab Orchard and Shirley Wendelkin of Marietta, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Pastor Roger Pauley officiating. He was a 1976 graduate of Shady Spring High School and received his master?s degree in 1982 from Marshall University and was a member of Marshall Alumni Association of Lexington. He was employed by GlaxoSmithKline as a senior executive sales representative. He was very active in reclamation of wildlife habitat. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 23, at Beaver First Baptist Church with the Rev. Allan Copenhaver and the Rev. Ron McClung officiating. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Raleigh County Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 794, Coal City, WV 25823. on June 22, 2006.1
