Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace Mullins Brumfield; four sons, Porter and Lewis, both of Millsboro, Del., Billy of Baltimore, Md., and James of Marianna; three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Green of Northeast, Md., Mrs. Shelby Pelfrey of Huntington and Miss Shirley Brumfield, at home; two brothers, Raymond of Pearisburg, Va., and Lorenzo of Pembrook, Va., and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Quisenbury of Mount Airy, Md., and Miss Lida Brumfield of Pembrook, Va. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cooper Memorial Church at Marianna. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Marianna. The body will be take from the Evan Funeral Home in Marianna to the home of a son, James, at 4:30 p.m. today. on November 1, 1966.3

A native of Pembroke, Va., she was a daughter of Harve P. and Anna Poff Broomfield of Pembroke. Her parents survive. Other survivors include her husband, Luther J. Mills Sr; three daughters, Mrs. Kermit Justice of Roderfield, Mrs. Jerry Flanagan of Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Bill Jennings of Welch; one son, Luther J. Mills Jr., of Welch; three brothers, Lorenzo and Raymond Broomfield of Pembroke, and Court Broomfield of Huntington; two sisters, Lida Broomfield of Pembroke, and Mrs. Arnold Quesenberry of Pulaski, Va; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in the First Babtist Church of Welch, with burial in the family cemetery at Hoge Store, Va. on October 1, 1959.2

Brumfield of Pembroke; five grandchildren, Dana B. Robertson, Nicole Lee Brumfield, Bendy Scott Brumfield, Lisa Tankersley, Lynette Lowe; eight great-grandchildren; a beloved sister, Lida Brumfield of Rich Creek. Brumfield Jr. of Miami, Fla., Kenneth Edward Brumfield of Miami, Fla., and Chucky Dale Brumfield of Delaware; three sisters, Juanita J. Green of Elkton, Md., Shelby A. Pelfrey of Columbus, Ohio, and Shirley E. Hatten of Harrington, Del; two brothers, James E. Brumfield of Brenton, W.Va., and Billy P. Brumfield of Milford, Del; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with Elder Bryce Philips officiating. Burial will follow in the Brumfield Family Cemetery, Skin Fork. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of the services Sunday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.      Eugene Marion Brumfield was buried at Cook Cemetery, Pineville, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.3 He was born on January 18, 1945 at Wyoming Co., West Virginia.3,4 He died on June 9, 1957 at Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at age 12.3,4 He OCEANA — Eugene Brumfield, 12, Huntington, drowned in the Guandotte River at 2 p.m. Sunday. His body was recovered at 3 a.m. Tuesday. According to a funeral home attendant, the youth and a playmate "slipped off from home" and went swimming Sunday. Both were drowned in the river but the other child's body was recovered shortly after the drowning. The boy was born Jan. 18, 1945, in Wyoming County, a son of Courtland and Grace Mullens Brumfield. Survivors include his parents, four brothers, James, Marianna, Billy, Huntington, Porter and Lewis, both of Itmann; three sisters Mrs. Juanita Green, Rock View, and Shirley and Shelby, both at home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Baptist Church, Turkey Creek, by the Rev. Raymond Lusk. Burial will be made in the family cemetery at Wolf Pen. The body will remain at the Evans Funeral Home, Oceana, until the funeral hour. on June 12, 1957.4

Funeral services will be held on 11 a.m, Monday, July 5, 2010 at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market St. Greenwood, Viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will be at St. Johnstown Cemetery. on July 3, 2010.5
