Lena was a member of Valley Baptist Church and also did volunteer work. Lena is survived by her son, Martin D. Killingbeck of Winchester; two brothers, Charles R. Wright of Victoria, Va., and Henry D. Wright of Riverdale, Md; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia D. Russell and Helen A. Kelley. A funeral service was conducted Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Valley Funeral Chapel, Bowmans Crossing, with Pastor James Bailey officiating. Burial followed in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Md. on December 21, 2012.³

She attended the University of Michigan for both undergraduate and medical school and completed her pediatric residency and fellowship at Michigan and the University of Minnesota. She was active in many organizations including Hadassah, Talmud Torah, Jewish Federation and the Amer. Lung Association. Joyce enjoyed hiking, skiing, travel, reading mysteries and being with family and friends. She will be sorely missed. Special thanks to Drs.
