     William Lansin Trest Jr. was born on December 8, 1942 at Morehead City, Carteret Co., North Carolina.^3,4,5 He married Vickie Lynn Garven, daughter of Larry Garven and Ruby Fern Hall, on December 18, 1971 at Norfolk, Virginia.^1,2,3 William Lansin Trest Jr. died on August 24, 2012 at Texas at age 69.⁴ He William "Bill" Lansin Trest Jr. of North Richland Hills was released from battle with cancer on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012. He was born in Morehead City, N.C., on Dec. 8, 1942, to William Lansin Trest and Elizabeth Macon Pelletier. He played football at Duke University and Texas A&M, then served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam War and earned numerous service medals. Employed for 27 years at Lockheed Martin, Fort Worth, he coached soccer for his children and refereed until retirement. Loved and missed, never forgotten.      Mary Elizabeth Wells was born on October 27, 1924 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ She married Euray Eldon "Bud" Hall, son of Edgar Eldon "Ed" Hall and Elizabeth Elzora "Eliza" Lawrence, on October 22, 1938 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 As of October 22, 1938,her married name was Hall. She was a member of the Williamson Road Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She loved taking ceramic classes through the church, and made beautiful ceramics for family and friends, which will be forever cherished. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothes for her children when they were young, including prom dresses for her daughters. She enjoyed quilting and canning vegetables from the garden. She was a humble, kind, hardworking, loving and loyal wife, mother and grandmother ("Bea-Bea") who always put her family first. She was a shining star who will be forever loved, deeply missed and always remembered by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Earl and Audrey Bea Carr Lawrence; daughter, Fredrica Dawn Harmon Roberts; brother, Clay Earl Lawrence; and sister, Marie June James. She is survived by her deeply devoted and loving husband of over 70 years, Frederick Maurice Harmon, of Riner; daughter and son-in-law, Stephana (Stacy) Maureen Harmon Barton and Hubert C. He was a former resident of the Poages Mill area of Roanoke County from 1952 to 2011. Fred was born in Floyd on April 23, 1924. Fred was a member of Cave Spring United Methodist Church in Roanoke, and was a Master Mason, being a Masonic Veteran of Cave Spring Lodge No. 230 of the Grand Lodge. He was a loving and devoted husband for over 70 years, and a caring father and grandfather who always put his family first. While he was able, he loved cutting wood on his farm in Check. He was a good and kind man who made many friends and brought a smile to many faces. He was an avid flower and vegetable gardener. He loved feeding and watching the birds, and recognized each bird by its song. He will be remembered by many who enjoyed rock hopping with him on Back Creek. He enlisted in the United States Navy at age 17 on February 14, 1942. He was commissioned on the U.S.S. Alabama August 16, 1942 and completed Navy Training Class for Boatswain's Mate Second Class on July 18, 1944. He received his honorable discharge on October 24, 1945. He worked for Shepherds's Auto Supply in Roanoke, and later the General Electric Company in Salem from 1956–1985, where for many years he ran the GE employee store.He is preceded in death by his wife of over 70 years, Stanley Bea Lawrence Harmon, daughter, Fredrica Harmon Roberts, parents, Edgar Allen and Mary Slusher Harmon, brothers, Norman Harmon, Marvin Harmon and Richard Harmon, sisters, Pauline Weeks, Senora Caldwell Keith, and Lucille Lee, and nephew, Phil Weeks.
