She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy ‘Slim’ and Bessie Woolwine; sisters, Reba A. Woolwine, Barbara W. Adkins, Frances Thompson and husband John; brothers, Wilbert F. Woolwine, Sydney Woolwine and wife Scottie; and daughter-in-law, Julie Hunter. Iris is survived by her husband, Charles Junior Hunter; sons, Barry L. Hunter and wife, Angela, Gary W. Hunter; grandchildren, Tya D. Linkous and husband Cody L. Linkous, Sr., Andrew W. Hunter and wife, Courtney; great-grandchildren, Cody L. Linkous, Jr., Ivy N. Linkous, Kenzie B. Hunter, Alexis L. Patricia retired after eighteen years of dedicated service to Virginia Tech. She was a dedicated mother and loyal friend. Her time on Earth was not easy, her trials were long and difficult, but she never gave up. She had faith that eventually her journey would end here and begin in Heaven, where she could walk beside her husband and family that preceded her. Her family may be missing her desperately, but Heaven has gained an angel. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. on June 5, 2011.3
