Surviving family include brothers, John Tate and Edgar Tate, Jr. and a sister, Pauline T. Goode. She was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Green Hill Church of the Brethren in Salem with Pastor Harry Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 2, 2006 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
