The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 19, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. on September 19, 2010.3

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 36 years, Rosemary Woodson Palmer; many special nieces; nephews; brothers-in-law and sister-in-laws. A Funeral Service will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 with Pastor Dan Rudy officiating. The interment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the DAV Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to the Ninth Street Church of the Brethren building fund. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. on May 26, 2013.1
