Myrtis L. Criner was born at Snowville, Virginia, in 1875, and married to Taylor Iddings in 1902. She leaves besides her husband a mother, three sisters and two brothers to mourn her loss. The deceased was of a kind heart, of gentle and generous nature, which endeared her to all that knew her. The funeral occured from her late residence last Saturday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. Holmes of the Baptist church at Kent, of which she was a member. A large number of friends and neighbors gathered at the house and listened to the last sad rites paid to her memory. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved husband and family. on September 20, 1907.5

Iddings, 83, who died at his home Saturday morning at one o'clock. Burial was made in the New Hope cemetery. Mr. Iddings had been in ill health for the last three years and his condition had been considered critical for the past two weeks. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage November 2. Born August 26, 1871, in Floyd county, Virginia, he was son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Byrd Iddings and lived the early part of his lite there, however he had been a resident of the Marie community for 62 years. Iddings was a former employe of the C&O Railway company in the Maintenance of Way Department and was retired In 1940. He was actively engaged in farming as long as his health permitted and was a member of the New Hope church for number of years. Survivors include three sons, Henry Iddings of Oak Hill, Joe and Leslie Iddings of Marie; two daughters, Mrs. I. I. Walker of Charleston and Mrs. J. D. Light of Marie; one brother, Dave Iddings of Marie and a sister, Mrs. C. E. Sumner of Alderson. on December 27, 1954.4

Pallbearers named for the service are Evan Belcher, Bill McNeer, Walter Yates, Frank Ellison, Kyle Shanklin and Fred Light. on February 21, 1955.9

She had been a patient in the hospital since Monday. Mrs. Iddings is survived by her husband, Giles W. Iddings, three sons, Henry, Oak Hill, Joe and Leslie of Marie, two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Light, Marie and Mrs. I. O. Walker of Charleston; one brother, Jeff Hoback of Washington, D.C., and one sister, Mrs. Callie Woodrum of Marie. She is survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at three o'clock at the New Hope church. on June 27, 1953.7
