Helen was a devoted wife, mother and the "best" grandma. She served alongside her husband as the church mother always giving of herself. She enjoyed cooking and working in her flowers. No words can express what she meant to those who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Calvin Lee Hawley; son, John Hawley and wife Heather; parents, Archie and Lena McAlexander; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lane and Pam McAlexander, Billy and Lisha McAlexander, Steve and Wanda McAlexander; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Terry Epperly, Dee and Eddie Shumate; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nancy Hawley, Gerald and Hazel Link, Melba Bower, Polly and Milo Simmons; grandchildren, Trinity, Serenity, John, Harmony and Zachary Hawley; numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces, and nephews. Interment in the Saint Matthew Cemetery. on November 19, 2017.2

     David Neal Carper Sr. was buried at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, 1423 Cemetery Road, Fort Gibson, Muskogee Co., Oklahoma.7,3 He David Neal Carper, 68, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was born on June 30, 1952 to George Carper and Helen (Wood) Carper in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Dave graduated from Winston Salem High School. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University and played football for Appalachian State Mountaineers. He also graduated from ROTC at the same university. Dave served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a ranger and received an honorable discharge. He married Susan Dale Tackett on September 2, 2011 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. They shared over nine years of life, marriage and many memories together. Dave was a home builder most of his life and worked for John Wieland Homes, and McCauley Homes in Atlanta, Georgia and Perry Homes in Houston, TX. Dave also was the business owner of David Carper Homes in Atlanta, Georgia and later retired from American Foundry in 2018. He was an avid fan of the Oklahoma State Cowboys (Go Pokes!), the Steelers, Atlanta Falcons and the Kansas City Chiefs. Dave enjoyed watching anything John Wayne and all the Marvel Movies. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Dave will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, George Carper; brother, Malcolm Carper; and sister, Cindy La Morte. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Susan Carper of the home; children, Stephanie Carper, David Carper both of Tulsa, OK, Jason and Kristi Tackett of Wagoner, OK, and Brandon and Tamara Tackett of Tulsa, OK; mother, Helen Carper of Mocksville, NC; grandchildren, Madison, Benjamin, and Ezekiel Tackett; and many nieces, nephews and cousins he loved dearly. A celebration of Dave’s life will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with.3 He married Ellen Lehman Simpson.1 David Neal Carper Sr. was born on June 30, 1952 at Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., North Carolina.3 He and Ellen Lehman Simpson were divorced on January 31, 1977 at Forsyth Co., North Carolina.8 David Neal Carper Sr. married Kathryn Elaine Vivian on December 30, 1977 at Harris Co., Texas.2 David Neal Carper Sr. married Susan Dale Tackett on September 2, 2011 at Sapulpa, Creek Co., Oklahoma.3 David Neal Carper Sr. died on March 10, 2021 at Muskogee, Muskogee Co., Oklahoma, at age 68.3
