Rites will be held in the Beckey Regular Baptist Church, Johnstown Road, at 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Everett R. Shaffer. Burial will be made in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be removed from Mellon Mortuary to the residency at 2 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Emmett Bledsow, Guy Mann, Sam Blaylock, John Cormack, Mervin Baker, Charles Barker, Barney White, Frank Grahavac, and Paul Chicos. on March 31, 1957.5

Helen Kinnier Davis died on February 20, 1916 at Charlottesville, Virginia, at age 35.3 She Mrs. Helen D. Yeatts, aged 35 years, wife of Mr. Theodore D. Yeatts, district manager of the Equitable Life Assurance Society, died at 6:15 yesterday morning at her home in Jefferson Park, after a month's illness of pneumonia. The funeral will be held at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from High Street Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the pastor Dr. H. W. Battle, assisted by the Rev. L. T. Williams, pastor of First Methodist Church, and Dr. Cecil B. Cook of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Yates was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Davis, of Richmond, where she spent most of her life, although at intervals she had lived in Atlanta and Des Moines. The family moved here last June. Besides her husband, Mrs. Yates leaves five children - Miss Mary and Howard, Helen, Elizabeth and Theodore. She is also survived by her parents and one sister, Mrs. H. D. Carrier, of Richmond. on February 21, 1916.4

Mr. Yates worked for Hercules Co. in Campbell, N.J., and was then transferred to Wilmington, working at the headquarters from the spring of 1930 until the fall of 1970, at which time he retired after 41 years. He was a member of Hercules Country Club in Wilmington, former member of the Wilmington Country Club, Delaware Society of Sons of the American Revolution, Eureka Lodge 423 AF&AM in Wilmington and the A.A.R.F. He was also a member and former vestryman of All-Saints Episcopal Church and a member of the board and former vice president of the Rehoboth Beach Art League. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lyons Yates, in 1995. He is survived by a son, Richard N. Yates of Newark; a daughter, Helen Y. Heron of Lititz, Pa; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Service and burial will be private. Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes, Lewes. on May 24, 2001.7
