He retired with 45 years service from the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service, assisting farmers and landowners in Floyd and surrounding counties. He was Assistant Scoutmaster to a local Boy Scout Troop. He was a longtime member of the Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his wife, Edna Keith Weddle; daughter and son-in-law, Diana W. and Richard Burton of Dublin; sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas K. Weddle of Roanoke and Lester and Judy Weddle of Floyd; grandchildren, Todd Boothe and wife, Kim of Floyd, Whitney Boothe of Christiansburg, Corey Weddle of Madison, Mo., Jessica Weddle of Red Oak, Iowa, Jamie Prillaman of Bedford, Jessie Weddle of Roanoke, Barry Nichols of Floyd, Lawrence Nichols of Floyd and Tracy B. Hubbard and husband, Jason of Blacksburg; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Keegan, MacKenzie, Carter, Jay, Annika, Bronwyn and Aaron; brother, Edmund Weddle of Floyd and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Topeco Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Ralph Duncan and the Rev. Mike Varner officiating. Interment will follow at Topeco Cemetery, with full Military Rites by Floyd VFW Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd. on November 18, 2007.2

     Allan Wayne Guilliams Allan Wayne Guilliams, 66, of Copper Hill passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 17th, 2021. He was born on May 3, 1955 and he was a loving, hard-working Husband, Father, "Grumps", Son, Uncle, and Friend. His family loved him dearly. Allan was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone who needed it. His favorite pastime was sitting on the front porch watching the hummingbirds fly around his numerous feeders. In the summer time you would frequently find him in the hayfield or his garden. Allan graduated from Floyd County High School and he worked for Carilion as a police officer for over 30 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Guilliams, and his grandson, Keegan Martindale. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rebecca Guilliams and their two daughters, Amber Horst and Emily Martindale (Brett); his mother, Jean Guilliams; grandson, Jameson Horst; siblings, Susan Nichols (Tim), Jeff Guilliams, Carol Minnix (Mark), and Andy Guilliams (Tammy); nephew, Andrew Nichols, with whom he shared a special bond and numerous other nieces and nephews.4 He was born on May 3, 1955 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.2,3,4 He married Rebecca Dean Marshall on June 22, 1985 at Floyd Co., Virginia.2 Allan Wayne Guilliams died on August 17, 2021 at Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 66.4

Mr. Wood was a member of the Guntersville Jaycees, and he loved cars especially loved restoring antique cars, but his pride and true love was his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Wood is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sandra Cryar Wood, Daughter, Jennifer Wood Curry (Paul), Son, Jeffery Thomas Wood, Sister, Lyn Wood Cross (James E) Grandchildren, Vivian Leigh Wood and Evan Acosta Curry, Niece, Shannon Norwood (Steven), Nephews, James Cross (Susan), Johnathan Cross (Brooke) and Stephen Cross (Michelle) 4 Great Nieces and 6 Great Nephews, Sister-In-Law, Linda Cryar Huber (Philip). Mr. Wood is preceded in death by his parents, Cubert A. Wood and Edwina Louise Pocus Wood and his brother, Larry Wood. Graveside following at Crestview Cemetery in Guntersville, AL. on December 4, 2016.2
