She was 97. Moore was born April 2, 1908, in Vancouver, B.C., to Amos and Annie Beal Burton. She married Viron Moore on Aug. 10, 1930, in Greeley, Colo. He died July 7, 1992. She had lived in Eugene since 1923 and was a graduate of University High School. She graduated in 1930 from the University of Oregon, where she belonged to Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Moore enjoyed her family, travel, watercolor painting, bridge and writing poetry. She belonged to PEO, the University Women's Club and the Aristocrat Trailer Club, and was active in the Lakewood Park Club. Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Simpson of Eugene and Judith Moore of Myrtle Creek; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. A grandson, Mark Simpson, died previously. The January reception will be at 1 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Clubhouse. Burial was in Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Rest-Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene was in charge of arrangements. on November 15, 2005.2

Mr. Simpson was born May 27, 1935, in San Diego, and raised on the East Coast, including in Newport, R.I. He moved to Eugene in the early 1960s, and received a bachelor's and two master's degrees from the University of Oregon. He served in the Army. He was a reporter and photographer for several papers, including The Register-Guard. In 1971, he moved to Portland, where he was a teacher for Portland Public Schools for 18 years, primarily in Markham Middle and Astor schools. He moved to West Linn in 1985. In 1973, he married Julia Brocanelli. Survivors include his wife; son, John M; stepdaughters, Jeanne M. Rintell and Karen M. Sisca; sister, Gail J. DeWeese; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His son Mark R. died in 1995. Remembrances to the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon. Arrangements by Autumn.

Her interests included sewing, crocheting, quilting and camping, and she enjoyed activities with her grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Laurence of Lorane; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Friday's service will be at 1 p.m. at Lorane Christian Church. Inurnment will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Westside Christian Church or Lorane Christian Church. on January 30, 2002.1
