     Nellie Grace Tyree Nellie Tyree Hansen, 77, of Gladstone, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 23, 2013, in Amherst after a long illness. She was the wife of the late, Edison V. ("Pops" or "Red") Hansen for over 58 years, until his death, December 21, 2012. Mrs. Hansen was born in Nelson County, February 1, 1936, to the late Willie Fitch Tyree and Mary Frances Olivia Tyree. She was a Home Healthcare Nurse. Surviving are her children, Peggy Charles and her husband, Alfie, of Jacksonville, N.C., Lois Lucado and her husband, Phillip, of Appomattox, and Patrick Hansen and his wife, Stephanie, of Gladstone; a grandson, whom she raised as her own, Jason B. Hansen of Amherst; eight other grandchildren, five great- grandchildren; sisters, Nettie Poe of Lynchburg, Mary Pleasants of Madison Heights, Ethel Wooldridge of Lynchburg and Evelyn Arthur of Madison Heights; brothers: William Fitch Tyree of Amherst and Jessie James Tyree of Amherst; a daughter-in-law, Marie; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Hansen; five brothers and four sisters.
