As she attempted to cross U.S. 220, she was struck by a van allegedly driven by John David Wilson, 44, of Martinsville, the sergeant added. Harris was taken to Memorial Hospital in Martinsville where she was pronounced dead, he said. No charges were filed, and the accident is under investigation. Trooper D.W.
