He lived in Ft. Myers, Florida for 45 years. He was born in Linwood, WV August 29, 1935 to Robert E. and Freda M. Phares. He was married for 46 years to the love of his life, Ann L. (Corley) Phares who preceded him in death in 2004. Mr. Phares is survived by 3 daughters, Janie Palmer (husband, Gary), Peggy (Phares) Whitman and Michelle Mc-Call (husband, Troy); 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, all of Fort Myers. Also surviving are 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He attended the schools of Randolph County, WV and proudly served the U.S. Army for 3 years during the Korean War. He retired from Montgomery Ward Company in Wheaton, MD in 1971. He enjoyed playing music, fishing, building and gardening and helping people with projects. At his request, he will be cremated and laid to rest with his beloved wife. A private service will be held in the near future. on March 16, 2016.4

Phares, 66, of Ft. Myers, departed this life to be with the Lord on March 8, 2004. She was born 2-21-1938 in junior, West Virginia. She is survived by her husband of 46 yrs., Edward L. Phares of Ft. Myers, children, Janie L. (Gary) Palmer, Peggy L. Phares, Michelle L. (Troy) McCall of Ft. Myers, loving grandchildren Ricky, Amber, Greg, Christopher, Samantha & Brianna, sisters Corkey Nucilll, Linda Ketterman, and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and a brother. A Ft. Myers resident since 1971, she retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 22 yrs. of service. Ann loved life, and lived every day enthusiastically. She loved her many friends and treasured their presence in her life. Her family was her most precious gift, her goodness and love will stay with us forever. We rejoice in the knowledge that she now resides in Heaven in her Father's arms. Private Entombment will follow in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. on March 10, 2004.4

Surviving are a daughter, Tammy Hagstad of Macon; three sons, Lonnie of Orange Park, Fla; David of Walkill, N.Y; and Melvin of St. Petersburg, Fla; two sisters, Anna Mary Moser and Mildred, both of Greencastle; a brother, Blaine of Greencastle; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter in 1994, two sisters and a brother. on June 23, 2000.1
